Headscratchers / I Got a Cheat Skill in Another World and Became Unrivaled in the Real World, Too

  • Why was Yuuya so ugly and fat before he found the door and leveled up? From what I can gather, Yuuya had been like that ever since he was born, and no amount of dieting or exercise did anything to change his appearance. That detail stuck out to me, especially since his younger siblings don’t seem to have that issue at all. And given the various items that Yuuya’s grandfather collected, it’s clear his family isn’t entirely normal. So, was Yuuya victim to some kind of curse or something?
    • I believe that Yūya was suffering from a genetic deficiency, so changing his diet and exercise wouldn't have helped him. His ailment was cured by leveling up in the other world, but there was pain accompanied by his body reconfiguration.
    • Its later explained that it was a unique trait Yuuya acquired from a distant ancestor of his. The new power he gained from leveling in the other world overrode this inherent, inborn trait and reconfigured his body into the form we see today.
  • How is it that Yuuya's parents never learn of his physical change in appearance or act upon it? Since you would think someone would've informed them like his siblings or one of the teachers who didn't like him from his old school, but it's never addressed. While I can maybe see that his siblings didn't do so out of pride, their failed revenge attempt which has compromised their academic futures should've provoked some sort of reaction from his parents since by that point they would've definitely found out, but still nothing is done, and it feels like a huge plot hole to not take advantage of.
    • They had disowned him and didn't want anything to do with him, so they were probably dismissive if the siblings commented about his transformation. It also makes sense since even in-story Yuuya's bullies point out how impossible it is normally to go through THAT level of change. Given that Yuuya now goes to a different school than they do, the twins most likely didn't have the opportunity to take a picture either, so that is out of the question as well.
      • Those are valid points, but the reason why it still confuses me is due to three glaring factors, the first and biggest one is that this isekai is not a one way like most others are, therefore his parents could still see him so to speak, if they saw how he had changed, it makes you wonder how they would react, and the second is that given how greedy they seem to be it could end up a case of "we want our cut" and try to butter up to him over his siblings to profit off of him, especially as they can no longer hope to profit off the siblings due to them having compromised futures from their actions, which leads to the third in that, that stunt of theirs had to hurt the reputation of the school they were attending, and given some of the teachers from said school didn't like Yuuya much either, that only makes things worse for the school by proxy which means there is another party that should be taking action as well. I know it's overthinking, but it's all because of those 3 events, hence why I feel their are glaring plot holes that should be dealt with. Now sure they are all real world related rather than in the fantasy world, but again this isekai allows the MC to go both ways so anything that happens in both worlds should really be addressed to some extent.
    • It might be his body having to reconfigure and adjust itself to contend with the power he suddenly gained from the level up. As he was, Yuuya simply couldn’t have made use of the incredible power he had gained, not with his current form, so his body changed so that he COULD (or at least could do so without blowing himself up or something). Him becoming handsome was just a side effect.
