** And Shue also did a big dramatic speech about how they were going to win as a team and how noone deserved to get more attention than anyone else but then, in that very same episode, gave Finn and Rachel a duet...wtf?

** It could be something like this: Will thinks of a number (Faithfully, Time Of My Life, Valerie, Defying Gravity etc.) and then thinks 'which of my kids would pull this off best'. Admittedly, the solos do very often go to Finn and Rachel (helped that Rachel is one of the most hardworking and talented in the room, and Finn's voice lends itself well to classic rock, which happens to be a genre Will likes to work in), but not always. In doing so, he probably feels like he's giving solos to whoever's voice suits the song best. The intent of the auditions are--as Jesse puts it---to pick the most talented performer in the club, to build the whole performance around, an idea that Will's not comfortable with.

** When this Troper was in high school most clubs--especially new clubs--actually ''were'' mostly younger students, and if there were students in the senior years in the clubs, that was usually because they'd been in those clubs from the beginning. Students in eleventh and twelfth grade often don't have time to join new clubs, as well as not wanting to be in groups that are majority younger students.
