Headscratchers / Fate: The Winx Saga

  • So the fairies and specialists are supposed to be sheltered from the human world to the point that they don't know where California is but use Instagram, namedrop Huda Kattan and play Dua Lipa at their parties? Understandably Stella has her portal ring but how do fairies like Terra who were raised exclusively at Alfea get explained?
    • Global Ignorance is definitely a thing in our world, so no reason to think it's not a thing in the fairies'. As America isn't the centre of the universe there (since Bloom is the only American student), the fairies just don't know too much about it. And it's possible to namedrop people and play music without knowing where the artists are from.
      • And it seems that they do know where California is since as soon as Bloom mentioned coming from there, Sky understood she was from Earth.
      • The prequel novel explains that the fairies know about things from the first world because they learn about it from the Internet.

  • How is it that Bloom’s parents would simply be okay with her abruptly going off to a boarding school in an entirely different country and never even looking up where it is? Did Farah use mind magic or something?
    • As shown in the flashbacks, Bloom's mother actually wanted her to socialize more and was annoyed that she didn't have any friends - so she likely thought going to school abroad would be great for her. Farrah is able to cast magic that can hide an entire ruined city, so making a fake brochure or website to go with a cover story probably was easy enough.
      • The fact that Bloom is implied to have been eager to get to Alfea for help controlling her powers after they first appeared probably helped with this. Bloom was shown to pretty asocial so her jumping at the offer was likely to help win her parents over given her mother's concerns about Bloom's lack of a social life.
