Headscratchers / Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids

• How does Fat Albert's junkyard band get such rich sound from their instruments even though they're not plugged in?
• Fat Albert and his friends hang out in the local junkyard. Isn't that private property or city property? How come they haven't run afoul of trespassing laws?
  • The junkyard is either no longer being used by the city who doesn't care enough about it or the part of town it's in to worry about a group of kids hanging out, or it's owned by a grown family member of one of the gang who allows them to hang out there as long as they don't cause trouble. Plus, some low-income neighborhoods in large Philidelphia-sized cities do have at least one vacant lot/dump site for electronics and cars that don't work anymore so for a large group of inner-city kids, it'd be an ideal hang out because A) not many people would go there to hang out and B) plenty of discarded furniture and car seats to sit or jump on instead of metal platforms or wooden benches.
