• Instead of going all the way to Europe after she blocked him, why didn't he just create another e-mail address and send that to apologize? Y'know, like everyone who's ever been blocked unfairly has done?
  • At the time, having multiple e-mail addresses was uncommon: people were still in the "postal address" mentality, and having more than one e-mail address was as rare as having more than one post office box.
  • Because if a person's pissed off enough to block another person, usually they're so upset that they will delete any email the first person sends them from another address the second they find out the other person is contacting them again, against their wishes, and would be even more annoyed that they're now harrassing them. He thought that she only would hear his explanation if he delivered in person.
  • Plus, who wouldn't like an excuse to go on a trip?
  • Of course the whole plot would have been avoided if they simply sent pictures of each other without anyone else in them.
• The character dynamic between Jenny and Cooper is somewhat off here. Clearly, the plot demanded that Jenny is One of the Boys character archetype who suddenly showed that she can be attractive in the eyes of Cooper. But their banter would have been more convincing, if Jenny was actually dressing unattractively and hiding her shapely figure (She didn't), AND if Cooper's mind wasn't always thinking about pretty women ('Sex tourist' pretty much defines the whole of Cooper's character). Did a hormonal pervert like Cooper actually need to see how a woman looks like in her bikini/bathing suit, to gauge her attractiveness?
  • Despite his behavior with strangers and women with whom he isn't friends.
  • Cooper respects Jenny, but in his mind, a man only respects other men, not women, and therefore the fact he respects her makes her in his eyes an "honorary man" instead of a woman.
  • Out of respect, Cooper may have tried not to think her about Jenny like that, until she started flirting with him.
