  • In A Gathering of Shadows, Kell tells Lila that he didn't look for Alucard when he initially disappeared from London three years prior because he was the one who banished Alucard in the first place. Later, we find out that Reson Emery sent him away, not Kell. Furthermore, Kell says that Alucard ran from London before Kell ever tried to cast him out. If so, why didn't Kell try to find him when he disappeared? He can't have been angry at Alucard for breaking Rhy's heart yet because Rhy only felt betrayed after he found out that Alucard was at sea during that time.
  • If Antari can't use the spell As Tascen to travel to and from ships because they aren't in a fixed place, how can Kell use it twice to find Rhy on a ship?
    • The rule clearly says it applies to things that are moving, so teleporting into a docked ship is fine but a sailing ship is not.
  • The Arnesian word for market is translated as volan when referring to the Night Market in Red London and merst when referring to the Ferase Stras. Are the two words used interchangeably or is there a mistake in the language?
    • We have words market and bazaar for mostly the same thing. Presumably, Arnesian can have something similar.
  • If Rhy and Alucard's initial romance and Alucard's subsequent banishment took place in summer three years before A Gathering of Shadows, why does Tieren say Alucard was unable to participate in the Essen Tasch of that year (due to "certain circumstances" heavily implied to be his disappearance from London), if it happens in February, before their affair even took place?
  • Why does everyone let Lila get away with posing as Stasion Elsor during the Essen Tasch? They would have nothing to lose by reporting her (except Kell, who also had a disguise to maintain) and they all seemed very concerned for her safety, if not appalled by her cheating.
  • Since bone magic is illegal in Arnes, why is it included in the game board? It seems like they wouldn't want children trying to learn how to do it even if they have the ability to.
    • You're allowed to use it for benign things like healing. It's the People Puppets use that's outlawed.
    • There may be applications for bone magic in animal care as well, if it's only using it on humans that's barred.
  • In A Darker Shade of Magic, it is October when Kell first takes Lila to Red London on Rhy's birthday. However, Word of God says that Rhy's birthday is in November.
  • In A Gathering of Shadows, which takes place in February, Kell says that his birthday is in a month when canonically it's July 10th.
    • On second thoughts, V.E. Schwab may have given us Kell's real birthday which the characters have no way of knowing. The royal family doesn't know Kell's name, much less his birthday. So it's likely that they just assigned him one in March so they would have a day to celebrate.
  • If Kell and Lila both gave their Grey London tokens to Maris, how did they get there to give Ned the inheritor? It seems like any other tokens Kell might've had were destroyed by Holland or confiscated by Maxim.
    • Maybe whole Lila's body counts as token, since she's from the Grey London? Or maybe she still kept one of the knives, which was not valuable enough to give to Maris.
    • More likely, Rhy retrieved the confiscated ones from wherever Maxim had put them away for safekeeping.
