* ForWantOfANail:
** Maester Aemon mentions that he refused his birthright to become king, so the crown passed to his younger brother, who then passed it to his son the Mad King and inspired Robert's Rebellion. How different might everything have turned out if Aemon had forsaken his vows and taken the job?
** This is essentially why Bran Stark does not hold a grudge against Theon or Jaime for what they did to him. He argues that their actions led to him becoming the Three-Eyed Raven and have brought them to Winterfell to fight the Night King.

** It's worth noting that Beric's flaming blade effect was achieved with good ol' practical effects, no CGI included. Real stage swords were milled with channels which were stuffed with dura-blanket material. By flicking on a tiny pilot light discretely fitted into the handle, the actor could ignite the dura-blanket material and the blade like a [[Franchise/StarWars lightsaber]]. This effect could only be maintained for a few minutes at a time however.
