  • Ah Sahm's Surprisingly Good English shocks so many throughout the series that it just becomes amusing by the tenth or eleventh time a character expresses surprise.
    Nellie: You speak English?
Ah Sahm: And you mangle Cantonesenote .
  • Ah Sahm, Young Jun, and Bolo attack a Fung Hai casino. After a long and absolutely awesome fight scene, Young Jun finishes off the last Fung Hai thug with a gun.
Ah Sahm: You had that the whole time?
    • Then they hear a noise from the other room and rush in... only to find Bolo at the bar, casually helping himself to some whiskey. After Young Jun expresses his amazement at the carnage Bolo created, the latter just shrugs with a "just doing my job" expression on his face.
  • Hong singlehandedly takes out several Fung Hai enforcers with his more comedic, Jackie Chan-inspired kung-fu while Young Jun and Ah Sahm watch from behind a flight of stairs.
Ah Sahm: You know the new guy's crazy.
Young Jun: We can work with crazy.
    • Even better, when it becomes obvious what Hong's about to do, Young Jun (Young Jun) is asking whether the new recruit lost his mind.
  • Chao says that the noodles he and Li Yong are eating are marinated in a special exotic blend of brine and mare's blood. Li Yong cuts him off.
    Li Yong: Chao...it's soy sauce.
Wang Chao: You know what your problem is, Li Yong? You have no imagination.
  • Lee continues his search for the swordsman by hacking at a cow carcass with various tong weapons. He doesn't have a proper crime lab so he does this at his desk in the officer's bullpen. Then O'Hara invites him over for dinner.
    Lee: What are we having?
O'Hara: Any pieces you haven't desecrated yet?
  • Young Jun beats up a homophobic new recruit who insults Hong. Father Jun walks in and demands to know what's going on. Young Jun's response? "Breakfast."
  • When entering a place that bans weapons, Young Jun boasts that he'll sneak his knives through. Then he watches another man refuse to give up his weapons and get shot in the head. He pulls out his knives and hands them to Ah Sahm. "Not a word."
    • The opening of the episodenote  is basically almost ten minutes of hilarious three-way banter between Young Jun, Ah Sahm, and Hong. No description can do it justice, it has to be seen to be fully appreciated.
  • Chao suggests smuggling Jacob back to China in a coffin.
Jacob: I can't cross the salt in a coffin.
Chao: Well, you can always stay here in a coffin.
    • This one becomes way Harsher in Hindsight because Jacob does in fact stay in San Francisco in a coffin; in no small part due to Wang Chao's machinations.
  • Mai Ling's reaction to seeing the mural of her brother. "Oh, for God's sake."
  • Buckley suggesting Leary get into politics.
    Leary: I'm no politician.
Buckley: That's what the best ones always say.
  • Ah Sahm walks into the Banshee. When all the racist patrons turn towards him, his only response is "Who's buying?" Gilligan Cut to Ah Sahm sitting at a table enjoying a drink surrounded by unconscious patrons.
  • Black Comedy of the blackest sort, granted, but in Enter the Dragon, as Mai Ling says to Chao that they did what was necessary to ensure Chinatown's safety by turning Jacob in to the cops, a crowd of angry Irish workmen turns up literally the instant she utters the last syllable. It's pretty much impossible not to chuckle at the timing, before being horrified by what follows.
  • Also in Enter the Dragon, when the Long Zii turn up to confront the rioters alongside the Hop Wei, Young Jun and Ah Sahm are wary but Hong greets Li Yong and co. with a cheerful "Hey!" like they're all best buddies. Li Yong in turn gives him a nod as if to say "yeah, our tongs might be bitter enemies but you're a pretty alright dude."
  • Racist cops cut off a Chinese man's queue while telling him to go back to his country. Officer Lee points out that queues are required by law in China and they're actually making it harder for him to go back.
  • Two counterfeiters say they've never heard of the US Secret Service. Mosely says that makes sense since it's, well, a secret.
  • Young Jun fucks a giant German prostitute. He comes back bruised, numb, and completely satisfied.
  • Bill returns home, battered after his fight with Atwood, and the first thing he does is pour himself a glass of whiskey. His wife comes in and demands to know what happened to him, as he looks very much the worse for wear - and upon hearing the story, she goes straight for the bottle.
