  • Clouseau jumps off the gym's parallel bars, and falls down the flight of stairs next to them.
  • Clouseau's interactions with the innkeeper:
Clouseau: Tell me, do you have a ruhm?
Innkeeper: I do not know what a 'rrrhum' is.
Clouseau: [laboriously looks up the word 'room' in his German dictionary] Zimmer.
    Innkeeper: [cheerfully] Ah, a rrruhm!
Clouseau: That is what I have been saying, you idiot...
  • And later:
Clouseau: [sees a dog lying on the floor] Does your dog bite?
    Innkeeper: No.
[Clouseau reaches down to pet the dog, and is bitten]
Clouseau: I thought you said your dog does not bite!
Innkeeper: That is not my dog.
  • This dialogue between Clouseau and Dreyfus at the beginning.
Clouseau: I'm afraid this is just not your day, my friend.
Dreyfus: But it is my day. It is, my friend, after three long terrible years, it is at last my day! I will not permit, repeat, not permit anything, repeat, anything to spoil it. Now I will walk you to the gate, and I will kiss you good-bye (kisses Clouseau on both cheeks) and you will drive off in your new car, which should rightfully be mine. And then I will have my interview with the Sanity Commission and they will set me free. And then— (fake arrow hits Dreyfus on the head) (cheerfully) — I will kill you! (begins trying to strangle Clouseau and then chases him to his car) KILL YOU!
Clouseau: Francois, start the car! (Francois gets in and starts the car up and drives away)
Dreyfus: (still chasing Clouseau) KILL YOU, KILL YOU! (gains on Clouseau, but an orderly grabs him and stops him) KILL HIM, KILL HIM! But I want to kill him!
    • What makes the Clouseau-Dreyfus scene great is that it starts off relatively pleasant, and Dreyfus is trying very hard to remain calm and civil, and even to like Clouseau. Clouseau is, of course, being as amiable as ever, but he constantly tips Dreyfus into the lake and the poor man's sanity gradually deteriorates.
  • To say nothing of Clouseau's interrogation of the staff.
Housekeeper: (after Clouseau destroys a piano) But that's a priceless Steinway!
    Clouseau: Not anymore.
  • "You ave a-rrreceived a beamp. You could receive a conceussion from such a beaump."
  • A mad man commandeers all television stations and makes a threat to the world. And what is the reaction of the President of the United States? What's happening with the football game he was watchingnote .
"Call the FBI, the CIA, and the Pentagon! Find out who won the game!"
  • Dozens of the world's greatest assassins converge on Munich during Oktoberfest at Dreyfus' invitation. Their primary target: Clouseau, who is hoping to pick up Dreyfus' trail. Their secondary targets: each other, since they are all hoping to get the glory of being the one to take out Clouseau. A lot of them do get their secondary targets, but the primary target escapes unscathed... and completely unaware of the attempts on his life.
    • The West German assassin gets the first attempt as he marches toward Clouseau, knife drawn, as the Inspector hails a taxi. However, Clouseau turns around with a briefcase forgotten by the taxi's previous passenger, and the assassin's knife goes straight through and out the other end. The irritated passenger grabs his briefcase from Clouseau... and accidentally stabs the assassin in the chest. Clouseau, oblivious as ever, simply tells the dying assassin that if he weren't in a hurry, he'd arrest him.
    • At Oktoberfest itself, the Chinese assassin sneaks up behind Clouseau and fixes a silencer to his pistol... only for another assassin to activate a shoe knife and fatally kick him in the back. But before that assassin can turn his attention to Clouseau, he is shot by another assassin from one of the rides.
    • As Clouseau enters a bierhalle, a heavyset cross-dressed assassin activates two spikes on his "chest", but when he bear hugs Clouseau to stab him, he is holding a giant pretzel which gets stuck on the spikes instead. As the assassin tries to chase after him, he trips and gets stuck in a tabletop, with the implication that the spikes "backfired" and killed him instead.
    • Meanwhile, the Italian assassin, played by 4'4" actor Deep Roy, is dressed as a pastiche of Robin Hood and William Tell and prepares to fire an arrow at Clouseau when one of the drunken revellers mistakes him for a child and picks him up; Clouseau intervenes in the ensuing struggle, during which the clarinet player in the band on stage (really a German assassin sent for by Dreyfus) puts a blowdart in his instrument and fires it into the Italian assassin's chest.
    • Two assassins follow Clouseau into the toilets; one fixes a silencer to his pistol as he joins the queue for the urinals behind the Inspector - but when one of the stalls opens up, Clouseau uses that instead, so the two assassins promptly charge into the stalls either side of him. Unfortunately for them, Clouseau drops the roll of toilet paper in his stall seconds before they fire, and as he bends over to pick it up, the two assassins shoot each other by mistake.
    • Finally, the Egyptian assassin (Omar Sharif in an unbilled cameo) goes to Clouseau's hotel room and shoots a man whom he thinks is Clouseau but who is actually another assassin - Dreyfus' Dragon Jean Tournier the bank robber (this one is completely understandable, as Tournier has deliberately disguised himself as Clouseau to gain access to his room). Before he leaves, he is mistaken for Clouseau by the Soviet assassin, Olga (Lesley-Anne Down), who was planning to seduce Clouseau before killing him but decides not to go through with the latter part. She returns at the end of the film to renew her relationship with Clouseau, and is puzzled that he neither seems to remember her nor is anywhere near as good a singer as she remembers from their previous encounter.
  • Clouseau's numerous attempts to get across the moat.
  • The entire dentist scene is absolutely hysterical, made even better by both men laughing themselves silly thanks to the nitrous oxide. Then one of Dreyfus' henchmen notifies him that Clouseau is in fact alive, and Dreyfus puts two and two together, while still laughing:

Dreyfus: I knew it! He has pulled the wrong tooth! There's only one man who would pull the wrong tooth! It's Clouseau!

    KILL HIM!
