Funny / Hello Neighbor

  • There are times where it is more fun to simply mess with the Neighbor as you try to break into his house, usually by stealing and hoarding random ornaments in your own house for kicks.
  • Due to the pre-Alpha stage, expect to find some glitches that may occur during gameplay, though some will still get a laugh out of you. One instance is how the Neighbor is immediately alerted to your presence just as soon as you leave your house where he will then start throwing bear traps at your garden for the crime of you leaving your premises, and that's before you even thought about breaking into his home.
    • Even funnier (and somewhat rarer):
*the player looks out of their bedroom window*
*Scary music plays as the Neighbor runs onto his porch and chucks tomatoes at the player*
  • Piss off the Neighbor too much, by breaking his windows and running back home? He'll start breaking your house windows out of spite.
  • If the neighbor locks all external doors, he'll smash his own window to get inside.
    • In the pre-Alpha, at least, you can trick him into boarding up his own windows and lock all external doors but the front door. Once that's done, trick him into leaving the house via the front door and going around the side, dash inside, and use a chair to bar the front door shut. He'll be locked outside, giving you free rein of the whole house.
  • As seen in one of 8-Bit Ryan's walkthroughs of the game, in Alpha 2, it's possible for the Neighbor to walk into one of his own bear traps.
    Ryan: Dingus!
  • Introduced Alpha 3, there's a sign saying 'TRASHCAN FLYING RESTRICTED', referencing a glitch where one could get into a trashcan and use it to fling themself above the map.
  • The Hello, Neighbor! Switch release teaser may start creepy as expected, but the creepiness gets quickly sucked out as the protagonist ends up finding the Neighbor playing on his Nintendo Switch only to be startled (as the protagonist shouts "HEY!"), nearly dropping and breaking his favorite video game console.
  • DAGames wrote a jazzy, upbeat, and gut-bustingly hilarious song from the Neighbour's perspective. It's very aptly titled 'Get Out'. For extra hilarity, the song seems to depict him as a Grumpy Old Man who just wants people to mind their own business.
