  • The opening sequence where an elder, drugged-up James Brown chews out a woman for using his building's bathroom.
    • The fact that the punch line to the sequence is him reacting to the police sirens with "I gotta go."
    • Though perhaps not so funny as James actually did this to the tenants of a building he leased out. They didn't make this up.
  • The movie's use of Brown's immortal "I Got You (I Feel Good)". Brown sings it in a televised mock-up of a ski lodge. Dressed in a dorky "white boy's sweater". Surrounded by white folks, also in dorky sweaters. Who are snapping their fingers. All dancing in dorky ways. It goes to Brown's internal perspective as everything around him goes into slow-motion. He looks around him, goes, "Aw, HELL no...! I'm in a honky hoedown!"
    • He then turns to the camera and says, "We're gonna have to take this and flip it!" Then the film quick-cuts to him doing a MUCH more badass rendition of the song in a concert years later.
    • "The first time I split my pants gotta be in front of all these white folk!"
  • James Brown's reaction to The Rolling Stones being the closing act instead of him comes across more as sulking than anything else:
    "Rolling Stone.... Rolling Stone...."
  • "She's coming. Mamma, she's coming...."
    • The blatant flirting before that is hilarious too.
  • Four words: The "Mashed Potato" Sequence.
  • The couple who were...tense about James Brown and Co. being at the hotel, finding themselves getting down to the band playing "Cold Sweat".
  • The way James constantly burns through hot girls throughout his career is pretty funny, especially during the diner scene, where James brings up a girl he met just after their concert:
Bobby: Anything I forgot to mention?
    James: Velma got pregnant!
  • Little Richard going out to take a piss. That is all.
  • Also, the sight of James Brown singing in Vietnam in front of thousands of sweaty US soldiers waving their undershirts around their heads like lassoes in support while bellowing "JAMES BROWN!" like they're screaming fans.
  • "What does 'please' mean!? Please pay my rent!?"
