At one point, it is stated Franny only comes out of her lab to go outside, eat dinner, go to school and use the bathroom. The narration then says "Which is something Franny really liked to do." The narration quickly realizes how awkward that comes off as and gives the correction that going to school was the activity Franny really enjoyed. What sells it is the illustration of Franny sitting in a chair and reading a book, which looks like she's reading on the toilet before another illustration zooms out to show her reading at her desk.
Book 2: Attack of the 50-Ft. Cupid
A hilarious Visual Pun is used when Franny tries to tell a friend from school named Percy over the phone about her Manifester and Percy doesn't pay attention, instead rambling about how much he likes corn chips. The illustration shows Franny glaring and hanging up the phone while imagining Percy as having a safety pin for a head (i.e. a literal pinhead).
When the giant Cupid created by Igor accidentally activating Franny's Manifester and Biggerizer crashes through Franny's roof, her realization at what's going on is golden.
"Pinker? Squishier?" Wait a second, Franny thought. That's not the moon... That's the biggest baby butt the world has ever seen.
Book 3: The Invisible Fran
The description of how the two-headed robot setting out to destroy the school's library books angers Franny more than the other things it has done.
She could have overlooked the graffiti. Franny had made inaccurate speculations about butts before. Butts are an imprecise science: errors occur. And she might have been able to find some merit in giant spit wads. She had to admit that they had a sort of charm to them, like a fresh snowfall— A fresh snowfall that smelled like the inside of somebody's mouth. But Franny loved books. She loved everything about them. Most of what Franny knew she had learned from books. A creature this stupid could be in the library for only one reason: to destroy books. And an act that stupid was not going to be tolerated.
Book 4: The Fran That Time Forgot
Franny's experiments involving rather literal interpretations of common figures of speech.
An apple a day keeps the doctor away. But it has to be a really big apple.note Franny is shown smiling while a doctor is pinned down by a giant apple.
A bird in one hand is worth two in the bush. But are you sure you want a bird in your hand?note Franny glares at a bird smiling nervously because she has bird droppings in her hand.
Whoever said "as easy as taking candy from a baby" never actually tried to do it.note Franny is trying to yank a lollipop from the hand of a screaming baby.
Franny getting the idea to change her middle name to Kaboom just because her infant self said it. She's lucky Baby Franny didn't convince her to change her middle name to "Goo Goo Ga Ga".
Book 6: The Fran With Four Brains
When it's mentioned that Igor tended to misbehave when he got lonely, the illustration shows Franny running in terror while her dog is rampaging around in a giant robot.
Book 8: Bad Hair Day
At the last chapter, Franny shrugs off the conflict with fighting her own pigtails as something that happens to everyone. Her mother indignantly points out that this simply isn't true and such things only happen to Franny.
