• Reiji's Amusing Injuries in the anime's eyecatch where he receives Ash Face after Chibi spits flames in his face.
  • Or the Harmless Freezing he suffers from a blast of Kanpa's ice breath.
• Episode 1 opens with Reiji accidentally oversleeping. But instead of rushing to school like most anime protagonists... he decides to just skip school and sleep in.
  Reiji: (falls back onto his bed) Yep, too bad. Might as well catch some more sleep. Wasn't meant to be, a guys gotta go with the flow.
  • While Daisuke is hanging around with Kyoji, the popular kid and most desired boy by most girls at their school. Kyoji is more than happy to brag about himself.
  Daisuke: (slightly jealous) Man, must be tough to be the best at everything.
  Kyoji: Yeah, it's a rough job. Being greats' my personal motto.
  • When Reiji finally arrives at school, he's still half asleep. Soon enough a soccer ball hits him in the face while he's riding his bike. Causing him to swerve and drive straight into Daisuke. Kyoji meanwhile, calmly watches as Daisuke is scooped up into the bike and both boys crash into a wall. As if the situation is a perfectly normal occurrence.
  • After all of Maiko's talk of Reiji "awakening the sleeping dragon within", Reiji is registered and receives his new dragon partner. A tiny little dragon that's literally sleeping.
  Reiji: It really is sleeping!
• Episode 2 starts off with Reiji daydreaming about his success at Dragon Drive. Only for him to get hit in the head, with a soccer ball.
  • Reiji meeting Ichiro for the first time.
• Episode 6 "Successor", Gokakku's rather pathetic attempts to get Chibi to obey him.
• Near the end of episode 12, Maiko getting her revenge on the men who abducted her the previous night. She easily beats all three of them, by the time Daisuke arrives to participate in the match, it's already over.
• Episode 21, despite Hikaru's pursuit of Reiji coming off as some creepy stalker vibes. The fact that Reiji and Chibi keep treating him like a harmless weirdo, as they continually give him the slip is funny.
