During the climax of Volume 6, the hero Hayato is summoned by his companion (and the royal of the local kingdom), Ringraide, to defend a tournament full of nobles and royalty that was attacked by a Greater Demon. While Hayato is struggling with the Greater Demon, said demon summons Tovkezerra, the "Great Monstrous Fish," a giant flying artillery platform used by the local Demon Lords to destroy entire kingdoms. And then summons 6 more of them. Meanwhile, Saito in his anonymous hero persona Nanashi is sneaking around saving people — and his first thought upon seeing a giant flying whale is that he really wants to make Yamatoni (ginger fried meat, usually beef) out of it.
Beyond that, he intentionally leaves the summoning circle alone, because he hopes more ingredients might be summoned.
