But ''Death Battle'' has to [[ShownTheirWork present their work]], and their mouthpieces are a [[MadScientist researcher with a cybernetic arm]] and a [[DeepSouth redneck with a shotgun leg]], with occasional appearances from said researcher's perpetually depressed crash-test dummy, a HotBlooded HammyHerald and the [[OnlySaneMan Only Sane Woman]], so we get more than just a few gags even when the combatants themselves aren't DenserAndWackier than you'd expect.

** In the episode proper, Boomstick used Lobster Roll to summon a lobster that attacks Wiz, here not only does Chad add to it but he attempts to name it Pinchy before Gerardo refers to the lobster [[NamesTheSame of the same name]] from ''WesternAnimation/TheSimpsons'', with a clip too before Chad decides to name it Snappy instead.
