Funny / Alex Rider (2020)

Go To

  • Alex sneaks back into school to reclaim Tom's confiscated phone. A fairly slick sequence follows, involving Le Parkour and lockpicking... only to end suddenly as Alex runs straight into two teachers on the stairs.
  • Tom's assessment of a drunk girl throwing up on his shoes at the party.
Tom: I think I just pulled!
    Alex: ...Yeah?
    Tom: Yeah!

  • An unlikely one when Alex is being interrogated by the SAS team and responds with a mix of Wounded Gazelle Gambit, Puppy-Dog Eyes and a healthy dose of sass.
    Wolf: Almost had him.
Eagle: Right before he called you an arsehole.

  • When Tom finds out about Alex being recruited, he finds Alex's cover identity and confronts him under cover of delivering a pizza. With anchovies.
    Alex: I hate anchovies.
    Tom: They're all you deserve!
    [Later]
Alex: I'm sorry. I completely deserved the anchovies.
Tom: You know I hate anchovies too, right? I have to suffer, because you're a dick.

  • James is at Point Blanc for shooting his tutor in the butt with an air rifle. He claims it was a political statement.
  • While being shown around the school, Alex asks why they can't go to the second floor. James speculates that it's where "Stellenbosch keeps the husks of her used-up lovers."

  • Alex and Kyra resolve to sneak out at night and check out the forbidden second floor, using washers in the locking mechanism to beat the lockdown. When Alex opens his door, the washer falls out and rolls away to be caught by Kyra.
Kyra: You're like a ninja. A really, really bad one.

  • A dark one when Tom is lured to Roscorp Media and taken prisoner. As he continues to lie about his connection with the nonexistent Alex Friend, Parker Roscoe's assistant decides there's an easier way to get information. Over Tom's screams of "You don't have to do this!" he grabs the terrified boy's thumb and... unlocks his phone.
  • Another dark one occurs in terms of how Tom’s phone gives away Alex’s identity and deployment as a spy: Tom’s video from back in episode one reappears, but Tom edited and produced an entire cheesy clip joking about Alex being a spy!
  • Alex dosed up on truth serum definitely counts, as he fades in and out of his secret identity, confuses the situation with the time Wolf had him captured, and generally just talks nonsense (at least, when out of context)
Alex: I can get paperclips any time I like!

  • A Guile Hero moment for Smithers when he tricks a bemused Duplicate Parker into saying "motorbikes" so he can fake a message for him. The look of bafflement on the Smug Snake's face as he's asked about nonexistent motorbikes is priceless.
Smithers: Great thing about "motorbikes," it gives you the X syllable without getting them to say "X-ray".
