Aunt Sally is said in "Aunt Sally" to have been made in the 19th century - but she never came to life until the Crowman gave her that gift in modern times. Perhaps her decades of being inanimate, as if she'd been in stasis or a coma all that time, explain her worldview such as her perception of foreign royalty, which is firmly rooted in the pre-WW1 era.
