Per wiki policy, Spoilers Off applies here and all spoilers are unmarked. You Have Been Warned.

Fridge Brilliance:

  • During the first trailer, Roland is introduced for morality (those who value virtuous morality), Frederica for liberty (those who respect the liberty of all), and Benedict for utility (those who pursue pragmatic utility). In the same demo, when the conviction system is introduced, utility is introduced first, before morality, then finally liberty. This may have foreshadowed the alignment of the characters as Roland opts for the utility ending, Frederica pleads for the morality ending, and Benedict insists on the liberty ending.
  • Maxwell has a skill that allows him to revive once per battle if he falls. Fittingly, he survived Avlora's killing shot and is possible to be recruited.
  • Medina's character story shows Hyzante prioritizing the life of a believer before a Rosellan, leading to her Defector from Decadence and joining House Wolffort. She regrets having to save one life over another. Perhaps because of this, she has a skill where she can use two items on the same turn, potentially allowing her to heal two allies at the same time.
  • Roland is very eager to take revenge against Gustadolph and General Avlora. He shares most of his skillset with his teacher Ser Maxwell, but gains an unique armor-piercing single target attack that is very effective against boss enemies as his ultimate skill.
  • Benedict's role as a Status Buff character makes complete sense when you step back and look at his ultimate goal—to empower Serenoa to become an even better lord than King Regna and Lord Symon.
    • Some of Benedict's suggestions during the game (surrendering Roland to Aesfrost and destroying the dam to flood the capital) are anchored on the motive of placing Serenoa on the throne. With Roland gone, the only obstacle for Serenoa's legitimacy is Cordelia. By destroying the dam, the people would be less likely to accept Roland as their king.
  • Aesfrost controls the continent's iron. Hyzante controls its salt. And Glenbrook controls the waterways that flow through the continent. Iron, salt and water are three of the crucial components of blood.

Fridge Horror:

  • In Hyzante, it is shown that Rosellan lives are not valued, and that if a choice is to be made whether a Rosellan or a Hyzante citizen, the Rosellan will be left to die. It is eventually revealed that this mentality goes beyond just Fantastic Racism, and that it also serves a sinister, pragmatic purpose, as Aelfric crystals are made from Rosellan corpses.
  • If one believes that Triangle Strategy shares its setting with Octopath Traveler, the fact that Aelfric releases dark purple flames, very similar to the corrupted Flame in Ophilia's final chapter, has all sorts of disturbing implications.
