  • Why is Bane so much darker here than his normal self? Because Barbara has never seen him in person, so her hallucination corresponds to how she pictures him.
  • The irrational behavior of the authorities, going after Batman when the Scarecrow was the one who killed Barbara, can be explained by it being a product of Barbara's fear rather than anything Gordon would actually do.
  • Some fans noticed that the episode seemed like a nightmare before The Reveal. That’s because it really was a nightmare — Barbara’s nightmare, to be specific!
  • The fact that it is a dream is that Dream!Barbara falls right onto her father's car and dies. Only in Barbara's imagination could such a worst-case scenario happen.
  • Batman's enemies appear on a talk show announcing they're going to sue Batman for having "created" them in spite of the fact that "Trial" showed that they would have turned to villainy anyways and all Batman really did was inspire them to wear costumes. It serves as a form of Foreshadowing for viewers who saw "Trial" and realized that something wasn't right due to the blatant contradiction. Plus, as mentioned on the main page, Arnold Wesker and Scarface are present despite Wesker having gotten rid of the Scarface personality for good in "Double Talk".
