• The main setting is in Gunma, a mountain region. This environment emphasizes the feeling of entrapment and conformity that Kasuga and Nakamura suffer, with them wanting to escape through "getting to the other side of the mountain."
  • The Time Skip has Kasuga move to Omiya, Saitama (an urban metropolitan area) and Nakamura move to Tokawa, Chiba (a seaside/beach region). For Kasuga, he can meet a more diverse group of people who he learns to be open with, and while Nakamura may not be able to find companionship she at least feels relief at being in an open area.
