Each of the main Characters has a Neca shaped like an animal. All of those animals are associated with the lgbt culture. Safira has a unicorn, which is often a lgbt symbol due to being often associated with rainbows. Lemon has a bear, which is a term used to refer to hairy, rugged masculine gay and bisexual men (though there are some people who do not identofy as men, but do identify as a bear). Lastly, Scarlet has a deer, which in Brazil is often associated with an effeminate and/or gay man. The phrase "Oh deer, I am queer" might've or might've not influenced this as well.
That Lady Elza raped Goldiva in his abusive childhood home to spite him is bad enough, but the reveal that Lady Elza is Sandoval makes it worse, since he visited the young Goldiva (a child back then) already as a middle-aged evangelist.
