The Oracle of Tides saying that the main cast will not defeat the Dweller of Strife regardless of what they do may seem like a bog-standard bad prophecy to subvert... until one considers that it's a case of Exact Words. The Dweller of Strife is eventually combined with the Four Acolytes, turning it into the Demon King from The Messenger (2018), which transforms back into the Dweller mid-fight in that game. The Oracle wasn't saying the Dweller would go uncontested, he was saying that the task of its destruction would fall to another; the Ninja, to be precise!
