Fridge / Rabbit Rampage

Go To

  • The cartoon opens with Bugs noticing the "animator", realising what's coming, and trying to pull a Screw This, I'm Outta Here. Which makes perfect sense, given that he probably remembers pulling the same trick on Daffy Duck.
  • The moment that Bugs stops complying with the animator is after Bugs is drawn in a giant top hat. The reason that settles it is that rabbits in a top hat is very stereotypical.
  • The biggest insult to Bugs are the two Bugs clones, basically telling him "No, you're not special."
    • Hell nearly every gag the animator pulls is like this. Bugs just trolled Daffy with whatever random prank he could pull in Duck Amuck, while Elmer constantly targets Bugs' pride. What's more while Daffy insists on getting through the cartoon, Bugs refuses to star in a cartoon he won't be the Comically Invincible Hero, noting his contract regulations several times over. Elmer puts picket signs in Bugs' hands or badly draws him to cow him. Elmer knows Bugs values being the suave hero more than anything. This is also why Bugs' tantrums are much more controlled than Daffy's, since Bugs desperately wants to avoid humiliating himself on screen.
    • As such, while Duck Amuck was a showcase of how versatile Daffy's character was and how he could be altered in numerous bizarre ways and still be Daffy, Rabbit Rampage is a showcase of how in-flexible Bugs is, and how used the audience are to Bugs playing one same role.
      • There's also an amusing in-joke to Rampage as several Warner Bros staff like Robert McKimson were complaining that Chuck Jones was making Bugs too suave and inflexible, only ever capable of playing a Born Winner. Jones was basically roasting his own version of Bugs.
