That page between the last two chapters might seem like a cute, sentimental little story about two random girls, until you realize that they were the same girls Mami saved in the beginning. If you also remember their Witch forms from earlier in the story, that's because they were also the same Witches she and her friends fought at the end of chapter 5. In other words, Mami fought the same beings that she had previously saved under different forms.
