Fridge / Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue

Fridge Brilliance

  • So why do the Rangers not bother to hide their identities as Rangers? Well they're a rescue team first and a ranger team second and trust is the biggest part of a rescue operation, knowing their identities, especially when they are taking on the mantle of a legendary superhero team, makes it that much easier to trust them and know that they're going to be alright.
  • The reason why the cyborg rangers is frowned upon (other than the inevitable malfunction) is because they are all about battle first and rescue second. Captain Mitchell wanted a rescue squad rather than a fighting force because of the harm that monster battles will cause so they want to make sure that civilians are not hurt in the first place. And if that wasn't the case, Captain Mitchell would have hired combat soldier or mercenaries, not a firefighter, a stunt pilot, etc.
  • In "Time For Lightspeed", we see that Chad has gotten a job as a life guard. A first, this seems kind of random but remember that Chad had a mermaid love interest. Him taking a job that puts him near the sea would help reconnecting with her.
  • Out of all the Rangers recruited Joel makes the most sense since the Lightspeed Megazord has to be physically assembled (as opposed to other Zords just doing it by themselves) and the Green one is the one that has to do it, meaning they need an incredibly talented and precise pilot to put them together
  • How was Captain Mitchell able to get the funding and resources to make an underwater base in preparation for a demon invasion of Mariner Bay. One could assume that Captain Mitchell would have told some high ranking officials about what happened with his son. Chances are they may have laughed him off... at first. When the events of In Space happened, those same officials probably thought that if there are threats off world, there could be threats on Earth, and after researching that Mariner Bay just happened to be on top of an ancient Demonic Temple, they must have recontacted Captain Mitchel and allowed him the ability to begin work on establishing Lightspeed Rescue.
    • Not only that, if you consider the advancements produced for Terra Venture, they could have easily produced similar results in constructing the underwater Lightspeed Aqua Base in a short time.

Fridge Horror

The Cyborg Rangers are either missnamed or Human Resources, and after their episode they are decommissioned.

  • Maybe "Cyborg Rangers" just sounds better than "Android Rangers" or "Robot Rangers". Especially since they already used "Robot Rangers" in Turbo.
  • Queen Bansheera is the first PR Big Bad in which her family (her son) does not give her a redeemable quality. Given her personality, what did she ever do to the father of Impus/Olympius. Was the relationship even consentual or even of his free will?
  • When the Rangers meet Bansheera for the first time, Ryan (who was kidnapped by the demons), states that she is "worse than ten Diabolicos". Take a look at how Bansheera treated her fellow demons - including her own son - and then imagine what she could have done to Ryan (who was 12-years-old when he was kidnapped by the demons) to give him that opinion of her. Even more terrifying when you consider that Ryan was a child from a species the demons were at war with. One could even rationalize Ryan not telling the other Rangers about Bansheera until later as him simply not wanting to think about Bansheera at all unless he was given a reason to.
  • Prince Olympius’s father is never mentioned. While it’s entirely possible Queen Bansheera spawned him asexually, many have speculated that, given her pure evil nature, Bansheera murdered Olympius’s father after he gave her an heir. If Olympius did have a father, you could wonder? Was the relationship even consensual?
