Fridge Brilliance
- Two of the main characters fears:
- Julia's fear of Poison-types makes sense when you consider her association with Fairy-type Pokémon (her last name means "like a fairy", and she owns a Pikachu that knows Disarming Voice, an Azumarill, a Togetic and a Snubbull). Fairy-types are weak to Poison!
- Caiseal's fear of icy caves doesn't just come from being abandoned in the Ice Cave. Many of his Pokémon are weak to ice types! (Golem, Marowak, Murkrow, and Vileplume)
Fridge Horror
- In a way it's lucky that the postmortem X-ray showed the hole in Saoirse's heart. Otherwise, Julia would likely go the rest of her life believing she'd killed Saoirse with the chocolate cake.
- When Amara is brought into custody, an entire squad of police are aiming their guns at the empty house she's hidden herself in. It's a good thing none of them had an itchy trigger finger, especially as they're ordered to "hold your fire!" when she comes out but do not lower their guns. It was easy for this to go wrong.
