Brilliance

  • The Inquisition setting a trap by luring Falma to an open field is a spot of brilliance on their part. Not only does it let them see whether he lacks a shadow, proving his potentially not human status, and prevent him from being able to hide the fact in the shadows of buildings, but it isolates him from any innocents that might either caught in the crossfire, or from being held hostage, if he did turn out to be a hostile demon.

It would also mean that he would not be able to use the local environment to his advantage, and the inquisitors with their superior numbers and their horses would easily be able to surround him, chase him down, and overwhelm him no matter how much of an advantage he could have against just one or a handful of them.
