Fridge Brilliance

  • Sorawo says a "red person" embraced her and asked if she needed "those people", and when she says she doesn't, she learns that her father, grandmother, and the rest of the cult died due to gas settling in a valley they were in. Exposure to carbon monoxide, a poisonous gas, can turn the skin red.
  • "Little Bird in a Box" gives us the Kotoribakko, which is a box that contains a number of small birds that attack Toriko, in a seeming effort by Satsuki Uruma to convert her former protege into another form to bring her to Otherside. The "Tori" in both names means "bird", and the trap may have been designed particularly for Toriko with that in mind, a variation on I Know Your True Name.

Fridge Horror

  • We're told that those who suffered Body Horror in Otherside came back fine at first, and changed later. Is there any guarantee that our heroines won't suffer a similar fate later on?
  • By the time our heroines meet Runa Urumi, Satsuki has been missing for just under a year. Runa, when she encounters Satsuki, says she has been waiting "years" to meet her. Assuming that this is neither hyperbole nor mistranslation, it means that Satsuki set up the ASMR video that gave Runa her Compelling Voice long before she vanished from our world. How far back does her influence go, how many others has she influenced, and what is/was her ultimate goal?
