  • Double Nickels on the Dime includes a live cover of Creedence Clearwater Revival's "Don't Look Now" recorded from the audience: The rest of the album is all studio material, so the contrast in sound quality is jarring, and it's a bit distracting to hear the audience chatter throughout the song. However, the book on the album in the 33 1/3 series mentions that a friend of the band convinced them to use the audience recording he'd made instead of the studio version they'd already recorded because he felt the sound of an audience talking over the song "added something". The book doesn't spell out what that "something" is, but it may be a layer of irony: The band are playing a song about taking one's social privilege for granted, while the audience is too busy being self-absorbed and chatting among themselves to pay attention to the lyrics.
