* Possibly unintentional but even more awesome if so: the name Jessica means 'one who sees/beholds/seeks out' depending on what source you're using. All of these readily apply to the character. Jessica has had dreams where she was a little kid and something was watching her. To behold is also to sense. She comes and talks to Jay about the batshit insanity around them - she seeks him. See probably refers to the Operator at some point since she's been memory wiped.
* [[ExactWords Technically,]] Jay's excuses for why he's staying at the hotel are all true: He's [[ApocalypticLog making a documentary, which is indeed about a hotel at this moment]], [[DoomedHometown his apartment building is most likely being renovated currently]], and [[WhatExactlyIsHisJob he pretty much does this for a living now, as far as we can tell.]]

** And one has to consider that the video was uploaded in the middle of winter. It was dark, but it may well have been as early as 5:00 or even 4:30.

* The operator symbol seems to come from a symbol that film operators use that appear for one frame when it is time to switch reels in old cinemas. Seen in ''Film/InglouriousBasterds'' and ''Film/FightClub''.

* Why were the comments enabled for a short while on Entry #####? At first you'd think it's a slip up on the part of the creators, but [[spoiler:because Jay didn't upload the video ([[WMG/MarbleHornets As far as we can tell]]), he couldn't have disabled them until he found the video.]]
* [[spoiler:"Do I help or do I kill?" was referring to Alex's drawings in entry #46.]]

** Considering who [[spoiler:turned out to be Masky]], it opens up a whole new realm of possibilities on who put the dead animals in the yard.
* enttry #37 is already scary enough, being an old video of Alex on his birthday with the requisite audio and visual distortion [[spoiler: and an appearance by our friend, the Operator]], but then you realize what this implies: [[spoiler: Alex may have been stalked by the Operator long before Marble Hornets]].
** Don't forget though, [[spoiler: one factor of the Slender Man mythos is that he stalks children. Alex probably didn't notice he was being followed until he started making Marble Hornets]].
*** Enttry. Ent being a tree based monster, and "try" being pronounced as tree. [[spoiler:Guess who shows up.]]
*** The spelling is also remarkably similar to how Jay was typing before he passed out. [[spoiler:What if he ''did'' upload the video and has no memory of doing so? And what else could he have done in such a state that he doesn't remember?]]

* All the way back in Entry 16 Jay found (among other things) a bullet casing when searching through where Alex had lived. Due to the other events of both season 1 and season 2 this is quickly forgotten. however in entry 52 [[spoiler: Alex]] pulls a gun on [[spoiler: Jay and Jessica]] and is about to kill them to "tie up loose ends". Seeing as it is now all but confirmed that [[spoiler: Alex is working for the Operator]], one wonders how many other times he had to "tie up loose ends".
* One of the reasons Alex was furious with Jay was for showing the videos to the world. This chewing-out occurred the day ''before'' Entry #27. Jay has just spent nearly an entire year posting even ''more'' videos, and seriously incriminating ones for Alex at that. If he was pissed enough back then to try and [[spoiler:''kill'' Jay]]...one wonders what he might be thinking ''now''.
* On a related note to above, since all of the TOTHEARK messages took place after entry #52, some of the messages they contain become far more sinister. Fragments says "you are Broken" and "you cannot be fixed". As chronologically this is the first thing TOTHEARK relays to Jay after #52 when he was [[spoiler: attacked by the Operator and MindRaped]] this raises the question of what the hell actually happened to Jay.
* There was a hospital that dealt with pediatrics, among other things...[[spoiler: near Rosswood Park. One can only imagine what the Operator did with the place - or, more accurately, the people associated with it - given the mythos.]] Brr.
* Several observant viewers have noted that the box on Tim's bedside table in Entry 61 contains (in addition to the empty pill bottle) [[spoiler: a razor blade.]] Now think back to what Tim's medical records said about suicide risk....

* A kid in the background of enttry #37 was wearing a Spongebob shirt. [[spoiler:Odd, given the "entry" takes place in 1991, whereas ''Spongebob'' began to air in 1999.]]
** The video was quickly taken down, and re-uploaded with the Spongebob shirt edited out. You'll notice a slight jump-cut at :14 where it used to be. [[spoiler: This is probably to be consistent with the timeline; obviously they weren't trying to imply anything about the chronology with the Spongebob shirt, it was just an oversight]].

** FridgeBrilliance (with a twinge of FridgeHorror): Who says he didn't? His entire memory of those seven months got erased, and his Twitter and Youtube accounts have been screwed with before... what if a lesser MindRape [[TheFourthWallWillNotProtectYou happened to the viewers as well?]]
*** Fffffff-- new personal canon, and thank you for giving me the "someone is right behind you watching you" feeling. .-. Adding on, if Slendy/Masky/TTA could erase all the viewers memories of Jay's 7 months, the next obvious question is: (if Slendy did it) Does that mean we're all on the list of "next victims"?

* [[spoiler: As of Entry 35, it's shown Jay and Alex encountered Tim/Masky somewhere between the 7 Month blank period. But Masky is seen attacking Jay at the hotel, when 7 months ago we saw Alex try to bash his head in. However, we see Masky with a limp chasing Jay in the hotel. Alex didn't beat his head in, he broke his leg.]]
** Confirmed as of Entry 36.
** Minor, but still might count: [[spoiler:In Entry 35, Masky is seen wielding a knife. Jay mentioned in Entry 18 that the knife he brought with him in that entry, where he first encountered Masky, went missing.]]
* The terrifyingness of WebVideo/MarbleHornets, to me, was always amplified by the fact that the entries resembled the recurring nightmares I had when I was little, oftentimes involving darkened gardens and houses, distorions of time (everything was in fast or slow motion) and being stalked by an invisible figure (my nickname for him/it was literally "Invisible").
** The scariness of WebVideo/MarbleHornets owes a lot to how the makers utilised {{Primal Fear}}s and Childhood Fears that we forget but remain with us for the rest of our life. It is the boogeyman of a generation spoilt by CGI and grew up knowing that the boogeyman doesn't exist.
* In enttry 37, [[spoiler: we see Alex's mom uneasily look to the side, as if she saw someone in the distance. Later on, she nervously waves her hand at something offscreen.]]
** At almost the ''exact'' moment [[spoiler: the Operator symbol flits over little Alex's face.]]
* Alex refers to people as being 'gone' in episode with the abandoned underground building. In 44, [[spoiler: we find out that may literally mean gone and not dead since the Operator can teleport people with him out of the room.]] What was thought to be a case of NeverSayDie was actually planned out in advance to have unclear wording, making this revelation fit easily without seeming like an AssPull.
** Entry #49 raises the possibility that they're gone [[spoiler: because he killed them. He only knows that they're 'gone', but he doesn't remember killing them because he only has selective memory when under the Operator's influence. Jay was to be next, if he hadn't run away in Rosswood Park.]]

** Fridge Horror from this [[spoiler: as of #49. He chose kill. He seemed to think the unknown guy was (likely) Jay. ''Alex intended to kill Jay.'']]

* The time between the end of Seasons 2 and 3 was significantly shorter than it was between Seasons 1 and 2, and it was still marked by occasional updates from Jay via Twitter. At first, it may just seem to be the result of a more polished and efficient production schedule, if we go out-of-game. However, at the same time, it also shows that Jay is learning. Last time he went completely dark, he ended up losing seven months of time and then had to spend half a year piecing it all together again. This time, Jay only went dark for as long as he needed to. He left Twitter updates detailing a few small finds, and fully resurfaced after finally hit some pay dirt when he spoke to Tim directly. He may not be the sharpest knife in the drawer, but Jay certainly learns from his mistakes.

* Seizures are sometimes described as electrical storms in the brain. Entry 61 begins with shots of [[EmpathicEnvironment lightning flickering through the clouds]], as a visual echo of [[spoiler: Tim's seizure later in the clip.]]

* So the whole series takes place in Alabama, right? Now, what does the flag of Alabama look like?
* Combined with FridgeHorror, but in Entry #69 [[spoiler:Jay and Tim found burnt remains of tapes in one of the random holes found throughout the woods from the park in season one. Presumably they were left by Alex, whom claimed he planned to burn the original Marble Hornets tapes.]] All the way back in Entry #21, when Jay passed one of the holes in the woods it generates an inexplicable burst of audio distortion, which had long been left [[NothingIsScarier unexplained,]] and it was presumed that he was being followed off screen by Masky or The Operator. [[spoiler:The hole that Jay trips in and discovers the tapes was even used as the thumbnail for Entry #21, all the way back in 2009.]] Talk about {{Foreshadowing}}.

** Don't worry! It gets worse! Totheark's video [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VrvjDtghdk0 Forecast]], has some distorted footage of what appears to be [[spoiler:a reanimated dog heart.]]
*** Heart? This troper was told it was an animal lung. Which doesn't make it ANY better. In fact, in some way, it's worse!
*** [[spoiler:That may be a ''DOG LUNG!!'']]
* It is a dog lung, the footage is taken from an old science experiment film called "Experiments in the revival of organisms" and in the film they are trying to revive a dog lung.
* When we first see Masky, where is he? Calmly sitting and waiting for Jay, right in front of the glass sliding door that Jay came in from. Blocking the only quick entrance/exit that wasn't locked. Now let's think about what could've happened had not Masky went into seizures.
* Entry #36 isn't too scary... until you realize that given how distorted the footage is, ''anything'' could be happening in the background. Additionally, a lot of the tape is so badly corrupted it can't be played at all. Despite everything that's happened, there's only been one other segment like that so far. What the ''hell'' happened that could have damaged it that badly?
** Jay said that the dropped camera messed up the tape or something on his twitter.

* Entry #38 is creepy enough on its own, but when taking into context the fact that [[spoiler: the Operator may be the result of several child molesters and murderers executed in the woods, which gives form to a HumanoidAbomination]], the previous entries of the Operator stalking and snatching characters, especially enttry 37 become far more sinister, [[spoiler:as does his aforementioned preference for children as victims]].
** I interpreted it more as [[spoiler:the aforementioned murderers and pedophiles feeding/being sacrificed to him]] or the legend being fictional, but inspired by him. Neither of which is really any better.
** This would make sense when you remember the execution method that Alex mentions. They were tied to split-growing trees that grow apart so fast that they act as torture racks. The Operator has long limbs, almost like they've been stretched out by something.
* This one deals with the peculiarities in Entry 38 and 37. Jay likely didn't post "enttry #37" of his own volition, considering the misspelling and the fact that his twitter reference wasn't neatly updated. Now consider Entry #38: properly spelled...but the description, until recently, wasn't ("unalbeled"). Comments were also enabled for a brief time before being shut off again.
** The real clincher, though? Didn't he say on his Twitter that [[{{FridgeHorror}} he]] ''[[{{FridgeHorror}} lost]]'' [[{{FridgeHorror}} all his tapes]]? And speaking of Twitter...he hasn't said one word about this entry yet. Someone is making a conscious effort to pretend to be Jay, or Jay is lying about the tapes being gone.
*** It might not be though. He's gone a couple of days without updating his twitter before.
*** Looks like it's indeed debunked.
* In Entry #40 [[spoiler: Jay drops the camera and runs. Drops it right next to the Operator. The camera with a tape in it that eventually ends up in the safe in the hotel room Jay stayed in...]]
** Which leads to the question of just ''what the hell'' Jay got involved in near the end of the 7 month gap. Also on a bit of an interesting FridgeBrilliance, there is a lot of speculation that it was at that point he bought his chest camera, thus leading him to end up filming with two cameras during Entry #29. Looks like we may be getting a clear chronology of events.
*** FridgeBrilliance: Intermission suggests that Totheark watched Jay in the woods, meaning that he very well could have retrieved the camera later. It would explain how he got the tapes in the first place, too.
*** As of Entry 41, [[spoiler:we find out who brought it back. It was another Masky who may or may not be Totheark.]]

*** Since it's a ''baby'' doll, it could imply he was there even when they were babies. Which would explain why babies scream and cry randomly...
* Seth, although a very minor character, manages to get this. [[spoiler: He was last seen helping Alex explore and videotape the dark industrial place they spend nearly an entire episode in. Then Slender Man appears. The footage goes berserk. Alex says Seth is "gone" and he is never referenced by Tim or Jay ever again. Either he's dead or Slender Man has him - take your pick on what's worse.]] If the implications aren't already horrific enough, pause and realize this minor character was the only person prior to Jay (''years'' later) who knew what was going on with Alex. After that Alex was completely alone in his fight against the EldritchAbomination. And people wonder why he's experiencing SanitySlippage.
** Not necessarily. [[spoiler: If Alex ever had a run-in with Masky aka Tim, Tim might have known.]] Although, that kinda makes it worse.
*** Unlikely. [[spoiler: Even if Alex ''did'' encounter Tim, Entry #59 confirms that Tim has no memory of anything that happens when Masky takes over.]]
** He might be alive as one of the Maskies. Which would involve ''years'' of MindRape, since it's been two years since Jay got involved and he was late to the party in the first place. There's FridgeHorror on top of FridgeHorror here.
*** Thankfully {{Jossed}}. In the gap between seasons, Alex has had the help of [[spoiler:Jessica, Amy and Jay himself]]. Still, what happened to Seth is up in the air.
** Since in 44 [[spoiler: Alex vanishes along with the Operator]] gone might actually truly mean gone and not dead. He might even have woken up afterwards with no memory of the whole thing. Everyone else seems to have been memory wiped to varying degrees.
* As of Entry #42, we find out that [[spoiler:Jay's second camera was once Alex's.]] This makes the implications about the [[spoiler: current status of Alex]] a bit more bleak.
* Entry #43 does [[spoiler: the forest Alex walk into]] look a little [[http://twitpic.com/37i5t2 familiar?]]

* The implication of what would've happened to Jay if he was close enough for Alex to grab in Entry 49 is terrifying.
** Not to mention that [[spoiler: Jay may be partially to blame for the man's death. He says he's been observing Alex for a long time after the events of Entry #47, but whether Alex ever spotted him during those times we have no way of being certain. Plus, we have to take into account all the recent actions by Jay that have really gotten Alex angry. Then fans were making fun of Jay in Entry #48 for being horrible at trying to be quiet despite Alex seemingly not hearing him, but #49 seems to suggest Alex DID hear him. Meaning if Alex had been feeling less paranoid and tense at the time, he might have just yelled at the man to go away. Whether Jay leaving Alex alone would have changed things is unknown, but still, the idea is pretty terrifying.]]
*** The guy that [[spoiler:Alex killed]] was the civilian Jay passed on the way to his car. Jay might not only have inadvertently [[spoiler:caused his death by following Alex, but he might've been the last person to see him alive]].
* When Alex drops the camera in #49 [[spoiler: at the start of the fight, there is a few frames that appears to show the Operator just standing in the tunnel mouth. This could be taken as meaning the Operator was there all along, just not making himself visible. Meaning he could have been looming over Alex's shoulders for a while and ''no one would notice.'' How many more people could he be following without their knowledge yet? He could even be ''[[NightmareFuel in the room with you, right now!]]'']]
** [[NightmareFetishist Cool!]]
* In 49, Jay edits the footage, but he had to see the unedited footage of some of the most disturbing events of the series. He had to watch that. It's official, he is now a case of BreakTheCutie.
** ''Especially'' since one of the people involved is someone he would've called a close friend at one time. Imagine Jay's position- watching someone you cared about being driven slowly insane by supernatural forces you can hardly comprehend, coming to a head when that person [[spoiler: commits a brutal murder]]. That would be heartwrenching. Even though we never see it, I'd be willing to believe that Jay's probably had more than a few emotional breakdowns during this whole thing.
*** That would certainly explain why the intervals between entries have been getting longer. Jay can't do much about editing and uploading the videos when he's in the middle of a breakdown.

** Probably at least [[spoiler: the entire cast and crew of ''Marble Hornets'']] (luckily though, [[spoiler: he failed with Tim]]). However, given entry 49, who knows who else was [[spoiler: innocently or accidentally killed due to Alex's paranoia]].

* On a related note to above, since all of the TOTHEARK messages took place after entry #52, some of the messages they contain become far more sinister.

* The closet in the house was terrifying until quite late in the series. Imagine being stalked by the Operator in your own house, and you retreat to the only space left (or the only room with one door that you can keep watching/filming) with nothing but some blankets, a bottle of water and maybe a gun. All the while there's this thing outside, making you more paranoid, fearful and sick. Then we see the room again in a later entry and ''things have moved around''. However, later on we find out that [[spoiler: it was probably Alex and he probably wasn't in fear of his life from the Operator after all]]. But until then, that was a very disturbing scenario, and one that gets worse the more you think about it.
** It may not be so disturbing for Alex, but what about Jay? In Entry #16, the screen tore while he was exploring the house for the first time...right when he was ''inside'' the closet! It's probably a good thing he never found out about it.
* At the end of the footage on the DVD, during the end credits, the video tears during the cast roll. This could be considered unsettling.
* In Entry #26, Jay makes it clear that for the past couple of weeks, he's been drifting from one hotel to the next, never staying in one place for too long. Despite this, Alex is still able to track him down and send him a package. How could Alex have possibly done this? If Season 2 is anything to go by, probably because a little bird told him...or rather, a tall faceless ''thing'' told him. Which means that despite Jay's apparent recovery to his mental well-being during that time, he was ''still'' being unknowingly stalked!
* In Entry 60, Jay goes alone to the maintenance tunnel, after Tim refuses to join him, and says he 'has no one' to come with him. This is obviously very sad, but it's also a good thing. [[ChaseScene Given what happened in the tunnel]], think about what would have happened to someone waiting outside the tunnel, or about how badly things would have gone had there been more than one person in the tunnel.
* Entry 60.5 reveals that Tim has, among several other mental health problems, a condition called Anhedonia, which prohibits him from deriving happiness or pleasure from activities that would normally generate such feelings. Looking back through the series, Tim has ''never'' been shown to smile, laugh, or show the slightest touch of happiness.
** This also counts as [[FridgeBrilliance fridge brilliance]].

** [[NightmareRetardant Maybe he's just using it to cut the pills into smaller dosages?]]
*** Unlikely, as his pills are in capsule, not tablet, form.
** Or it's for self-injury, which is not a happy thought but better than the suicide one.
* Here's something else to consider about Entry 61: [[spoiler: Hoody was there the whole time, watching Tim have a seizure, curled up helplessly on his floor. Tim could have died and he just sat there and fucking watched. Our hooded friend is ''ice cold.'']]
** [[spoiler:[[UpToEleven And considering that Hoodie is actually]] ''[[UpToEleven Brian]]''[[UpToEleven , one of his]] '''[[UpToEleven best friends]]''' [[UpToEleven ...]]]]
* Remember how scary the first season was when you first watched it? Now imagine that you were watching them one day only to find that ''you're in it.'' and you're the ''antagonist.'' [[spoiler:Tim must have had some time to cool off before Entry #59, since most would probably GoMadFromTheRevelation.]]
* After seeing Entry #65, one must wonder what happened to Jay when he was supposed to have uploaded Entry #37. Actually, any time Jay disappeared mysteriously (''Return'', Entry #24) or blacked out...Or any characters' mysterious black outs....
* Totheark's "Surveillance" shows a TV extensively. For some reason (since I have not seen the movie, just trailers and synopses), I kept thinking about Film/TheRing, [[AsYouKnow which is about a cursed videotape that kills anybody who watches it.]] I just remembered that one of the popular memes about Slenderman is that you put yourself in more danger the more you learn about him.
* In Entry #66, Tim says that Brian was his [[FriendlessBackground first friend ever]]. A popular fan theory is that Brian is Hoody which, given what Hoody ''did'' to Tim, may be the most heartbreaking possibility imaginable. Even if that's not true, Tim was still present, [[IllBoy too sick to help]], when Brian died/was taken.
** Plus, since Brian was his first friend ever, that also makes Tim's committal to the initial ''Marble Hornets'' project make perfect sense. Tim was very much a SarcasticDevotee who barely tolerated Alex's snippy attitude and didn't seem to enjoy the project...well, at all, really. So why did he stick around? It was the only meaningful experience he'd ever had with other people.
* In Entry 70, the Operator is a ''lot'' shorter than in the other entries. Keep in mind that this entry takes place way back when Alex was still shooting his movie. The Operator is ''growing''!
** This might actually be confirmed. In Entry 86, Tim tells Alex that his actions have been "feeding it". Watch the entries which are chronologically set during the student film. The Operator stands around looking scary, messes with Alex's personality, and at one point makes him bleed. The fun stuff, like teleportation, distortion of time and space itself, and distortion enough to outright break the cameras, doesn't happen until the series starts.
* In Entry #72, Jay seems more sensitive to The Operator's influence while Tim seems less affected. Has The Operator shifted its priorities, making Jay its primary target?
* It's easy to miss, but in Entry 75, Jay says that he was doing nothing with his life before his current investigation began, and doesn't know what he would do with it if his troubles were over. On some level, Jay seems to believe that ''the Operator has given meaning and purpose to his life.'' How far a stretch is it from that to serving the Operator, or even worshipping it?
* In Entry #76 it's revealed that [[spoiler: Alex was actively searching for Jay and Jessica since the events of Entry #52; long before we heard from him in Entry #64. At any time before he got the tapes from the safe, Jay could have crossed paths with Alex ''and he would have had no idea he was in danger.'' Alex easily could have led him to an isolated place and shot him]]. This made me retroactively scared for Jay.
* In Entry #77 it's shown that Jay [[spoiler: has gone full on psycho. The whole video, he's screaming about having to find Jessica, even if it meant endangering her more. In case you doubt that Jay has gone off the deep end, answer this question: What was Alex doing in season 2, before we saw he was insane? ''He was looking for a girl.'' Specifically Amy, who was Jessica's roommate. That's right, Jay is officially Alex 2.0.]]
** Entry #77 has even more horror. [[spoiler:Jay came to Tim's house armed with a knife and zip ties. Chances are he was planning on tying Tim up so that he could use some more [[JackBauerInterrogationTechnique forceful methods]] to get him to cough up details about Jessica's whereabouts.]]
** He may be rapidly heading there, but [[spoiler: he's not actually Alex 2.0 yet. He still hasn't murdered an innocent bystander.]]
*** And now [[spoiler: he'll never reach that point, which is probably the only positive thing that can be said about his situation.]]

* After TheReveal in Entry 84 re-watch the series with the knowledge of who Hoody is and how they were pretty much the [[spoiler: nicest character in the series prior to entry 51/54.]]
* In Entry #84, the Operator shows up near Alex immediately after the audition. This is the first time chronologically we see Alex making a big deal about distortion on the tape, implying this could well be the first time he ever encountered the Operator and vice-versa. [[spoiler: Now remember that this was the first time he met Tim and that Tim blamed himself for accidentally bringing the Operator into everyone else's lives. He was right all along; it ''was'' his fault.]] The point is only driven home further in Entry #85 when [[spoiler: Alex is screaming at Tim, blaming him for exposing him to the Operator and leading the rest of the cast to their deaths.]]
* As of Entry 85, let's just assume that Tim can manage to kill Alex (there's no way this can end without one of them killing the other). Let's assume even further that somehow he can punt the Operator back from whence it came. What happens next? Tim has no home, probably no job or money, he's been broken mentally and emotionally, he's never really been able to function socially to begin with, his employment record can't be very good, and there's probably more. Even without Alex or the Operator around, Tim isn't going to have much of a life ahead of him. RealityEnsues could easily do [[DrivenToSuicide to Tim what a faceless monster couldn't]].
** [[spoiler: That might just be confirmed. We never see if Tim's stabbed himself in Entry #86, but when he finally collapses, it's held in the suicide position, as in, blade facing down. Towards him.]]
** Tim survived Entry 86 for sure. Entry 87 ended with Totheark font, suggesting that Tim uploaded it as Masky. What that means and what comes next is anyone's guess, and may never be answered.

** Tim survived Entry 86 for sure. Entry 87 ended with Totheark font, suggesting that Tim uploaded it as Masky. What that means and what comes next is anyone's guess, and may never be answered.
