In some of the most unsettling moments of the film, Jackie's steroid abuse before and after the bodybuilding competition is scored with Throbbing Gristle's Hamburger Lady. The lyrics are a fictitious tale written by a real doctor of a burn victim nicknamed the "Hamburger Lady," as her injuries are so thorough she can only be described as looking like grilled meat. While this obviously doesn't apply to Jackie, the steroids have made her a pile of beef. pumped full of chemicals, a description that also applies to a hamburger patty.
