Fridge Brilliance

  • Gunsmith becoming rogue might seem as another classic cliché of the A.I. Is a Crapshoot until you take into account that gunsmith is based on Tony’s personality before his becoming Iron Man and one of the common things said about Tony is his manufacturer days is that while he wasn't a quote unquote "bad guy", Tony didn't really care about the long term repercussions of his weapons being sold to the highest bidder. Gunsmith's initial plan is to get Tony back into the weapon business by pitting Ghost against him, but notably makes sure that in Tony’s initial confrontations with her that he always has an out for Tony with a new weapons added to his armor or taking control of his armor before Ghost can kill him. It's likely that in his mind, anything is perfectly justifiable as long as no one “deserving” is hurt or killed. It's only until Tony fully rejects him that Gunsmith goes completely off the rails, and unlike the real Tony, he doesn’t have anyone to ground him and bring him back to reality (Pepper, Friday). In short Gunsmith is a glimpse into what Tony could have likely become if not for his Superhero Origin
  • If this game is indeed in the same universe as Insomniac Spider-Man games it sure does explain why Tony hasn't been present during incidents like Devil Breath.
    • Along with being established as having been busy being Iron Man for 5 years this version of Tony seems to have a close working relationship with S.H.I.E.L.D. along with being a member of the Avengers (if the the Thor reference is an indication of anything). Tony simply just doesn't have the time and was probably handling another threat around the time. There's also the fact that like the MCU version this Tony does not live in New York City with his home instead being based in Malibu.
    • Also from the way he seemingly references the incident when looking at an Oscorp building in Shanghai he's not surprised the threat was stopped indicating he has at least met Peter and trusts that he and the other heroes that reside in New York in this universe can handle the city wide threats while he's busy.

Fridge Horror

  • Apparently, just one of Gunsmith's Kill Sat lasers was enough to cause a massive blackout in Malibu and capsize every boat within several miles... so how bad was the damage when Gunsmith fired several of those lasers during the pursuit of Ghost in the next chapter? Or worse, the many, many lasers fired in the same place as the first one during the final battle?
