Fridge Brilliance
- To push away Calliope, the player has to mash the circle button: just like one generally has to do when killing a god or any powerful creature. It requires Kratos the same amount of strength to leave his daughter and kill a god.
- Regarding Persephone:
- When Kratos meets Persephone in the underworld, she is sitting on the grove, then rises out her seat and plucks a deep red pomegranate from a nearby tree. In the original myth, the pomegranate was the fruit Persephone ate, which caused her to be tied to the underworld and having to alternate living there for a period of time, then going back to her mother Demeter on the surface.
- Persephone's more radical point of view and wanting to destroy the entire Greek universe could be explained as being a case of Adaptational Angst Upgrade: in the original myth, Persephone, also known as Kore (litterally, 'maiden, girl'), is close to her mother Demeter; she is kidnapped, brought to the underworld and marries Hades. Her situation is resolved with her alternating between living with her husband in the underworld for a time, then with her mother for another period. In this game, it is implied that Persephone has lived her entire life in the underworld after she married Hades, which caused her much grievance.
