• While the Mars colony follows the concept of a matriarchal society, it seems that any woman in this movie who's in a position of power is completely incompetent at their jobs. But then you take into consideration that career advancement in this society for a woman means you have to sleep your way to the top, it suddenly makes a lot more sense why these women in positions of power and authority fail to get the job done. They're not qualified for the positions they hold, and yet got them by pimping themselves out. So it's less of a matter of women not handling authority, and more of a matter of the wrong type of women having power.
  • Melanie mentions early on when Braddock comes on to her that she is straight, and that means she has to actually work her way up through the ranks, rather than sleep up, probably a reason why she seems more component than the other women in the group.
• The Martian Leader's lines seem to solely consist of some weird muffled nonsense, but in a flashback, we see his original self, having a sharp-toothed maw rather than humanoid lips, no wonder what he says is garbled, he probably can't make the proper sounds as he is unused to the mouth he is using.
