- Clara's mother died the same day "Rose" occurred. She was probably killed in the massive Auton attack.
- The Doctor told Clara that he'd brought his granddaughter to Akhaten once, but failed to mention if they had seen the sacrifice of the last queen. Makes one wonder if the Doctor knew about the sacrifice all along, and left Akhaten with Susan before she could find out about it herself.
- 'Grandfather' is gone. What happens to the Seven Systems once the reason for (and foundation of) the culture no longer exists?
- When the Doctor mentions universes where the laws of physics were devised by the mind of a madman. He was no doubt referring to Omega, from "The Three Doctors" special, nice Continuity Nod.
- Also the Land of Fiction from "The Mind Robber".
- Also also the realm of "The Celestial Toymaker".
- The extremely high calorie content of Clara's leaf makes a lot more sense after "The Name of the Doctor".
