Fridge / Darby O'Gill and the Little People

  • Fridge Logic: If Darby loses his last wish, shouldn't Katie die?
    • The generally accepted explaination is that King Brian, as a gesture of friendship to Darby, takes Katie's place in the Cóiste-bodhar since, as Brian had earlier stated, it can't return empty, and Brian himself had told Darby that Katie was all right. Since leprechauns are immortal, Brian wouldn't stay dead.
    • It was only stated that the coach couldn't leave empty, not that the occupant had to remain in it for the duration of the trip.
    • Well, maybe the thing is not retroactive. As King Brian said, at the moment Darby entered the coach, Katie found herself alright. When the wish was "cancelled" you might say, all Brian could do was making Darby get out of the coach, but he couldn't make Katie ill again because it was already in the past. If you consider the part when Darby wished that (oh, I don't remember which character, but never mind) saw Brian, since it was over when the wishes were cancelled, it can't be undone. The guy didn't forget that Brian had appeared to him the form of a rabbit, did he? Brian can make things appear and disappear, he can make people see him when and how he wants, but he isn't a Reality Warper. He can't undo what is done.
    • The skeptical Michael was the person whom Darby wished could see King Brian.
