The ending of the episode becomes much more heartbreaking when you realize that Pat ultimately lost both of his sons because of the way he treated them.
He loses his youngest son, Maurice, because he pushed him away for reminding Pat of his wife and not being the son he wanted him to be, and him being angry at Maurice was his last interaction with him before Maurice "disappeared." The guilt only worsened when Pat found out that he was actually murdered.
He loses his oldest son, Grant, because he put so much pressure on him to be the best, which wound up pushing Grant so far over the edge that he accidentally murdered his younger brother in a fit of jealous rage, and gets arrested for it years later.
As at least one YouTube comment pointed out, even if Maurice survived his beating at the hands of his brother, he wouldn't have been able to dance properly anymore due to the hit he took to his ankle with that crutch.
This one crosses with Fridge Heartwarming (in a bittersweet way), but considering that Maurice was very close to his mother due to their mutual love of dancing, it's safe to say that at least he's reunited with her in the afterlife.
