Fridge Brilliance
There may in fact be good reasons for Asperchu’s Flanderization. Both in universe and out of it.
- In universe: Asperchu’s personality started becoming noticeably worse from about #0B. Until then he was complete unrepeated asshole from issue #1 onwards. Now recall that in the first issue Asperchu’s medallion was stolen. We see later on that he can still use his powers to perform the Asper-ha-me-ha, and at one point the Curse-ye-ha-me-ha, because he’s the avatar of one of the Chaos pickles. So clearly any Anshunt powers the medallion has have nothing to do with that. What the medallion dose do is allow Asperchu to function as a relatively normal person. With it he’s capable of living and socializing to the point he’s actually able to make friends and attend school as was seen in the first few comics. With its loss, he began a slow decline from bumbling, naive but likable character to selfish, apathetic sociopath. It would also explain Asperchu’s constant short term memory loss and his complete, vacuous, disregard to his surroundings even at the risk of his personal safety.
- Out of Universe: Since Asperchu is a parody of the real Christine Chandler, Asperchu’s decline is a reflection of the actual Chris-Chan and Sonichu. Like Asperchu, Christine and Sonichu were at first seen as childish, a bit dumb, but harmless and kind of endearing in their own special way. But all three quickly deteriorated into an unlikable mess that nobody wants to associate themselves with. A lot of things Asperchu has done are also thing Christine herself has done or been accused off. It also doesn’t help that the creator of Asperchu has butted heads with Christine on numerous occasions. The creator likely doesn’t want anything more to do with Asperchu, as he does the real Christine. Which would explain why Asperchu has become an annoying side note in his own comic.
Asperchu is associated with the pickle of diligence, which seems ironic, but he is extremely diligent, when gaming is concerned.
