    Spoilers
  • Lord Dudgeon roasts a general with an inferno early on. Later on, Wizard explains that fire is too complicated to make by magic, suggesting that Lord Dudgeon isn't a Gifted himself.
  • The Servant of Magicka acts like the ghost of the recently dug empty grave, ostensibly belonging to Adrian Ritske.
  • "Dudgeon is a lie. You are a lie. A puppet and puppet master and puppet again. I know the truth, and he fears it. You don't exist.
    • The Red Dragon Ayari masquerades as Deacon to control the Empire. "Deacon" masquerades as Dudgeon to control the Corvus. A puppet and puppet master and puppet again.
    • The Yellow Dragon Tristesse masquerades as the Harrow Witch. Dudgeon "remakes" the Harrow Witch as his lieutenant, Sansregret.
    • The primal side of Sansregret knows the truth of what she originally was and about Despond, who Ayari seems to fear above all else.
  • "I can feel... well... I guess you could call it the living bits inside," foreshadowing that Rawn's third of the Orb of Magicka is the "Soul" part of the Body-Mind-Soul split Orb.
  • Wizard asks, "You... were human originally, right?" to Sansregret. She answers in the affirmative, but he remains unconvinced.
  • The voice of Despond says to Sansregret, "Your basic instincts knew to seek me out. Like a stray pet." Sansregret's relationship with Despond is explained much later.
  • Good, Evil, and Neutral. The three major factions seem to be the Empire, the Corvus, and Despond. This was one of the early indications that not only was a bigger threat looming than Dudgeon, but that the Corvus, while not Good, weren't Evil either. Indeed, Corvus fights against both the "Good" Empire seemingly to somehow prevent the "Evil" Despond from rising.
