"The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. So if the light within you is darkness, how deep is that darkness!"
—The Windows Killer
The Last Heist is an action-crime film directed by Mike Mendez and starring Henry Rollins, released in 2016.
A normal day at a bank takes a turn into pure chaos when a bank robbery takes place, with things going horribly wrong from there. The worst of which being that a Serial Killer is also inside the bank and killing people.
Examples:
- As the Good Book Says...: Given the Windows Killer's obsession with eyes and his perceived Mission from God, it's no surprise that he likes quoting Matthew 6:22-23 (possibly the Christian Standard Bible version).
- The Bad Guy Wins: After a Gambit Pileup during the bank robbery results in almost all the robbers ending up dead, the Serial Killer who has been stalking the entire cast throughout (and who seemed to have been disposed of previously) suddenly jumps out of nowhere to kill the last survivor and take off with the money.
- Creepy Souvenir: The Windows Killer collects the eyes of his victims. He gets involved in the plot when the Bank Robbery interrupts him as he is retrieving some of his 'collection' from his safe deposit box.
- Colliding Criminal Conspiracies: It's about a Bank Robbery that takes place at the same time that a Serial Killer who likes to carve out and collect his victims' eyes happens to be in the building to retrieve his 'trophies' from the safe deposit boxes. It also turns into a Hostage Situation when the police catch on to the robbery taking place. And then it's revealed that several corrupt SWAT team members are also after the loot.
- Dirty Cop / Impersonating an Officer: It's unclear how much authority Sinclair actually has, or whose orders he acting on, but he's certainly not clean.
- From Camouflage to Criminal: Several, discussed at some length.
- Jurisdiction Friction: The Feds take over from the local cops, although it's not the FBI, but the DOD who show up looking for Paul.
- The Last Title: The Last Heist
- Mission from God: Windows believes that God spoke to him and told him to save souls—i.e. kill people and save their eyeballs, "the windows to the soul."
- Robbing the Mob Bank: Or in this case, robbing the cartel safe deposit box:Bank Manager: Do you know who owns this place?
- Sinister Minister: See Mission from God above. Danny even addresses him as "reverend" after looking at his ID.
- It's less clear why his ID (which appears to be a passport) would indicate anything about his religious status, given his the nature of his actual religious position.
