"During the midst of a massive pandemic and lockdown, a Horror Youtube guy finds himself trapped in the very thing that he spends his time tearing down : a bad horror film. Alone and isolated, a mysterious package from somewhere in Long Island seems to be driving him mad. A series of terrifying and bizarre supernatural occurrences follows, testing the limits of his fortitude and patience, as well as his ability to not go downstairs to find out what made a noise in the middle of the night. Can he use his knowledge of crappy horror films to stay alive, or will he be just another victim in the Last Amityville Movie?"

The Last Amityville Movie contains examples of...

  • As Himself: "Horror Timelines" host Josh Spiegel stars as Josh. Similarly, his wife Christie and daughter Stella have roles in the movie.
  • Asshole Victim: The next-door neighbor, who shows up to complain about the noise from Josh's abject terror. he is killed shortly after his conversation with Josh.
  • Evil-Detecting Dog: Averted. Josh has two cats, but they don't play much role in the movie and don't react at all...probably because they're cats.
  • Continuity Nod: Josh discovers from Lars Van Floof that all previous Amityville movies were the result of items sold from the original house.
  • Demonic Possession: Happens to Josh's boss Jim towards the last act. He stares into his webcam for a long time and then proceeds to slit his own throat
  • Did You Just Flipoff Cthulhu?: Josh is pretty flippant with the evil infesting his house at several times in the movie.
  • Found Footage: Presented as such, with Josh either recording much of the action or incidents being caught on the cameras around his house.
  • Genre Savvy: As a horror Youtuber, Josh is aware of the tropes of horror movies. For instance, he refuses to read aloud an inscription written in an ancient language on the doorknob he receives in the mail.
  • Kick the Dog: Josh almost escapes the house when his boss calls to give him his job back the demon kills his boss via possession before he can fill out the paperwork.
  • No Animals Were Harmed: Though the ending credits do mention that one cat was slightly annoyed.
  • The Plague: The film is set during a pandemic, which provides a reason for Josh to be trapped in his own house.
  • Show Within a Show: Begins with Josh reviewing a fake movie called "Amityville Zoo". Also doubles as a Chekhov's Gun as the sword mentioned in the movie is ultimately used by Josh to kill the demon.
  • Your Head A-Splode: The fate of many of Josh's Patreon subscribers during a Zoom chat.
