Snow White: Fairest of Them All is a fantasy adventure TV movie based on Snow White, co-written and directed by Caroline Thompson and produced by Hallmark Entertainment, starring Kristin Kreuk as Snow White and Miranda Richardson as Queen Elspeth. The film was originally released in 2001.

A couple had a daughter after having wished for a child and named her Snow White. Tragically, his wife died after their daughter's birth and, during a hard winter, nearly falls to despair when his tears released a creature called the Green-Eyed One, who grants the wishes of the desperate father - among which gave him not only a kingdom, but also a new wife named Elspeth who would become Snow White's stepmother.

Years later, when Elspeth hears that Snow White is now the fairest of them all, she is driven to do everything in her power to get rid of her stepdaughter and ease her pride - not limited to turning Prince Alfred into a bear, imprisoning her husband in a mirror, and more.

Fortunately, seven dwarfs save Snow White and offer her their home as a safe place in return for caring for their home. However, the queen will find her and make one last attempt to rid herself of her rival.

Snow White: Fairest of Them All contains these examples:

  • Dead Person Impersonation: Elspeth takes her trickery against her stepdaughter a step further by disguising herself as Snow White's dead birth mother.
  • Death by Adaptation: Hector, the hunter, gets killed by Elspeth when she uncovers his deception with the wild boar's heart offered to her.
  • Death by Childbirth: Snow White's mother died after giving birth to her at the beginning of the film.
  • Fairest of Them All: Not only part of the title of the film, but also the motivation behind Queen Elspeth's desire to remove Snow White from being fairer than her.
  • Forced Transformation: Prince Alfred was turned into a bear by Elspeth, but he thankfully hadn't lost his sense of self in the process.
  • Hall of Mirrors: Elspeth has a room lined by mirrors where she inquires on who the fairest of them all is. It is also the very room where Snow White's father is imprisoned after he grew suspicious of his wife's recent behavior.
  • Karmic Shunning: When the Green-Eyed One found out about his sister's vanity and jealousy against her stepdaughter, he called her out on it by explaining her loss of beauty - that he gave her, no less - was the result of her vile actions, and refuses to help her any further, leaving her alone to an even worse fate.
  • Killed Offscreen: Elspeth meets an unpleasant fate when the gnomes (after having been freed from her evil enchantment) come after her in revenge for their terrible treatment. We don't get to see what happens to her as she screams, and the screen darkens...
  • No Name Given: Snow White's stepmother is named Elspeth.
  • Poison Is Evil: Elspeth's last attempt to get rid of Snow White is to trick her into offering a poisoned apple.
  • Rags to Royalty: Because of the Green-Eyed One granting John's wishes, Snow White and her father were given a kingdom of their own, and her father was given a Queen who becomes her stepmother.
  • True Love's Kiss: When Prince Alfred kisses Snow White, not only is she revived, but he and other victims of the queen's magic are returned to normal.
