Not really. Sidious would have probably been looking for a better candidate as a matter of course and killing off an apprentice to make way for a better one is so on-brand for the Sith that it happened to Dooku himself in Episode III.

* UnwittingInstigatorOfDoom: Obi-Wan slaying Maul in the climax of the previous film. Maul's death left the position of Sith Apprentice now open, forcing Darth Sidious to fill it in the interim between the Episodes. Not only did Sidious find a worthy successor, but he found an Apprentice who could double as ''the'' perfect candidate to lead a revolt against the Galactic Republic and the Jedi Order. Without Dooku's enlistment and conversion, it's debatable whether Sidious would've been able to find another firebrand for the Separatists who was half a clever or charismatic as the Count.

'''Yoda:''' Pain, suffering...death I feel. Something terrible has happened. Young Skywalker is in pain. ''Terrible'' pain.

Cleaned up and re-worked to account for earlier Dooku Wham Line preceding the current one.

** Dooku tips his hand on Geonosis when Poggle the Lesser gives him the Death Star schematics for safekeeping. Dooku states "My Master will never allow the Republic to get away with this treachery," again almost casually revealing Dooku answers to someone and he's just a figurehead leader for the Separatists.
** Near the end of the movie, Darth Sidious greets Dooku by saying: "Welcome home, Lord Tyrannus." The line, almost casually revealed, confirms Dooku is the man who recruited Jango to be the Clone template, meaning the Clone Army was actually created by the Sith and ''not'' Sifo-Dyas. The line (and the preceding "The Force is with us, Master Sidious") also confirms Dooku has replaced Maul as Sidious' apprentice and the Sith are controlling the CIS.
