[[https://www.fanfiction.net/s/14164565/1/W-Anon W-Anon]] by Lumi-Tea
* Recommended by AdImpestra
* ''Status'': Ongoing
* ''Synopsis'': 26 years after the Second Wizarding War, messages begin appearing on the Muggle dark web from a mysterious user exposing the existence of the wizarding world- and a struggling American wizarding family finds themselves directly in the crossfire of this dangerous new conspiracy theory. Meanwhile, an elite team of wizards searches for the man behind the so-called "W-Anon" militia - knowing failure could end in war.
* ''Comments:'' Very little is known about this story so far- all we have for now is a series of cryptic post by the 6chan (like 4chan or 8chan) user "W" threatening to expose the wizarding world. But if this story fills up to its promise, it is going to be an absolutely terrifying political thriller that very accurately shows what the Trump era and 2020 would be like in the Harry Potter universe. Keep this one on your watchlist.

Cutting wicks to Mary Sue.

* ''Comments'': The fic starts off with one of Hermione's to-do lists. One entry reads: "Fix the Ministry." The fic explores the political struggles in a post-war world, rife with rogue dementors, unrepentant purebloods and a shadow werewolf society. This is a [[DarkerAndEdgier darker and edgier]] exploration of the [[CrapsackWorld crapsack world]] Rowling only hinted at, rife with [[AlternateCharacterInterpretation Alternate Character Interpretations]]. If you can stomach the sheer detail, length and the slight hints of [[MarySue Mary Suedom]] this is a highly recommended.

* ''Comments'': This fic is ''fantastically'' well-written. The characters are incredibly fleshed-out and given believable, detailed personalities. Scorpius, Al, and Rose's characterizations are among the most unique I've come across, and it's a refreshing change from some of the more traditional depictions (that's not to say there aren't some similarities, but the similarities are balanced by the uniqueness so that one does not feel that one is reading yet another iteration of common {{Fanon}} characterizations). The [=OCs=] are excellent as well; they're neither [[MarySue Mary Sues]] nor bland stiffs whose purpose is to make the scene look populated. They have well-developed strengths and foibles, personalities, and motivations. There is a [=RosexScorpius=] romance, so be warned if that is not your thing, but this not a shipping fic; though their relationship is a big part of the story, drama is the main genre.
