If Lost'' by izanyas

  • Recommended by: Gintama200
  • Status: Complete
  • Synopsis: The Port Mafia finds a lost baby.
  • Pairings: There is slight Chuuya/Dazai but it's mostly speculation. It could go either way really.
  • Comments: An absolutely hilarious story on what would happen if the Port Mafia comes across a lost baby in their territory and has no idea who's it is. Features sassy Gin, tired mother Chuuya, Granpa Hirotsu, poor Tachihara, baby-hating Higuchi, and Dazai and Atsushi stumbling into that mess of a circus.

mori lectures his son by auroracode

  • Recommended by TheSilverHunt3r
  • Pairings: None
  • Status: Complete
  • Synopsis: In which Chuuya gets a much-needed lecture about not hiding injuries from his coughdadcough boss. It's a rather fun take where Mori acts like more of a father figure.

Five Torn Out Pages by Misila

  • Recommended by: Gintama200
  • Status: Complete
  • Synopsis: Nothing had changed. Mori was still boss, Elise was too spoiled, Chuuya still had his awful hat. But there was something different and, Dazai couldn't remember what it was.
  • Comments: A wonderful story where Dazai gets amnesia and Mori is the one to find him. Manipulation ensures and Dazai and the Agency tries to figure out what happened to him. Everyone is in character in character and there this is a pure Gen fic. There are no pairings, a true rarity in this fandom.

Dog Daze by shonebrightly

  • Recommended by: Halogen
  • Status: Dead
  • Synopsis: A rogue ability user targets Chuuya, claiming she can separate him from Arahabaki. When her attack goes awry, Chuuya finds himself stuck in the body of a dog that happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. While the dog gets a taste of Chuuya's mafioso lifestyle, Chuuya struggles to track down his human body and the ability user who tried to take it from him. When he fails to make contact with the Port Mafia, Chuuya turns to his absolute last resort for help—Dazai Osamu and the Armed Detective Agency.
  • Comments: A good, well-written fic, which was fairly surprising considering the premise. Nice characterization all-around, and the OCs used don't overwhelm the story. The author also seems to have done some research on dogs and their behaviour, including some lesser-known aspects, which makes the story more engaging and less cliche.

pull out your pen and write out your memory by Seito

  • Recommended by: eeveelutionlover2000
  • Status: Ongoing
  • Synopsis: Instantly three things occurred to Shirusu. First, fuck, this was the world of Bungou Stray Dogs. Second, given the appearance of Dazai Osamu standing in front of her, she had landed some time relatively close to the Dark Era. And third, these words slipped out before she could stop them. “You’re asking me out on a date?! But you don’t even like women?!” Shirusu blurted out. And Dazai blinked back at her in surprise. Ah fuck.

World's Greatest Dad by Seito

  • Recommended by: eeveelutionlover2000
  • Status: Complete
  • Synopsis: For about 18 hours, 27 minutes, nearly 13 years ago, Fukuzawa Yukichi and Mori Oogai were married.
It was, to date, the worst decision they had made and so far the decision to divorce was the only decision they both agreed upon.

(Both blamed Natsume and copious amounts of sake for the lapse in judgement.)

As the two men went their separate ways, Mori to take the position of Port Mafia boss and Fukuzawa to open up the Armed Detective Agency, they had hoped that any future interaction would be limited to a strictly professional sense. Total cutoff was not possible, thanks to Natsume, but with clear well defined lines of territory they hoped to see each other as little as possible.

Except there was a custody battle over the kids.

"Stop stealing my subordinates!" Mori hissed into the phone.

On the other side of the line, Fukuzawa scoffed. "Stop traumatizing them and maybe the ones who are actually loyal to you might stay."

silver thread by Misila

The Naming of Cats by cyan96

  • Recommended by: eeveelutionlover2000
  • Status: Complete
  • Synopsis: Chuuya does not actually make it a hobby to pick up stray charity cases, now nominally on the side of law and justice or not. There had just been something about the kid, even skin and bones and so undernourished Chuuya could count the blue webbing of blood vessels under his skin, something in his bleach-white hair and the uneven, florescent colour of his eyes that had sent the alarm bells blaring. The reason behind this becomes pretty evident the following morning, when he walks into his living room to see a tiger in place of his couch. ... So this is where Kunikida's newest job had been hiding.

Mark by Raven_Rien

  • Recommended by: eeveelutionlover2000

Partner? Try Suitor by tothemovies (jayjem_jam)

  • Recommended by: eeveelutionlover2000
  • Status: Complete
  • Synopsis: Mori tries to matchmake (pawn) Dazai off to people who flatly refuse. It's a very intense game of Hot Murderous Sentient Potato. Odasaku and Ango bet on Dazai's murderous streak. Chuuya is tossed into the mess unwillingly but emerges with a Dazai (burden). There are Lists happening and you bet Chuuya ticks all the criteria twice over.

Inception by Animejessi

  • Recommended by: eeveelutionlover2000
  • Status: Ongoing
  • Synopsis:
Akutagawa watched Chuuya as they walked to the Detective Agency, wondering what he found out about Dazai that has his usually squared shoulders and strong posture suddenly seem so… heavy. Like he was carrying the weight of the world. And maybe in a way he was.

None of this could have been easy for Chuuya. In fact, Akutagawa was certain it had been hardest on Chuuya to find out about Dazai’s past than on anyone else since he had been the person closest to Dazai. If Dazai was going to tell anyone about this, it would have been Chuuya. But he hadn’t. Chuuya had this discovery shoved in his face just like the rest of them and Akutagawa could tell it hurt.

Wolf Among Sheep by Shinkirou

  • Recommended by: Gintama200
  • Status: Complete
  • Pairings: Chuuya/Dazai
  • Synopsis: Joining a local gang of orphaned children at the age of thirteen hadn't exactly been Dazai's plan in life, but realistically speaking, it isn't like he has anything better to do, so... Why not? (There are, of course, many reasons to not do that, but, well. Dazai's boredom is a powerful thing.)
  • Comments: This is a very well-thought-out story about Dazai joining the Sheep instead of the mafia. It's mainly Dazai's POV but Chuuya has some moments of his own too. The characters are well developed and the relationships between characters besides just chuuya and Dazai are well established. It is a slow build but the story hooks you in and doesn't let go.

Family by setosdarkness

  • Recommended by: Gintama200, eeveelutionlover2000
  • Status: Complete
  • Synopsis: Chuuya is considered by everyone to be the most eligible bachelor in the entire Yokohama medical community. In the same vein, everyone also ignores Dazai’s (very loud) delusions about being in a heart-pounding, sickeningly-sweet lovey-dovey marriage with Chuuya.…which is why, everyone is also surprised that for this year’s Bring Your Family to Work Day, the two doctors show up together with two kids.
  • Pairing: Chuuya/Dazai
  • Comments: This is a brilliant AU fanfic of Dazai and Chuuya working together in a hospital married without anyone realizing. Features shocked co-workers, Atsushi and Akutagawa as their children, bring your family to work Day, and lots and lots of tooth-rotting fluff.

  • Synopsis: After so many attempts to destroy Yokohama, the Special Ability Organization agrees to the horrible idea of teamwork excercises between the three groups. Consequently, during a game of charades everyone involed was subsequently horrified at Chuuya and Dazai's level of teamwork.
  • Comments: This fic has reached true levels of hilarious crack. Everything between everyone's reactions playing the game, to Fukuzawa's love of cat shops is absolutely golden.

  • Status: Complete
  • Pairings: Chuuya/Dazai pre-slash
  • Synopsis: Trust between them is a game of one-upmanship; it takes a lot of it for Chuuya to come out, and even more for Dazai not to mess up in answer.
  • Comments: Short, sweet, somewhat emotional and perfectly in character.

Lost in a Good Book by Meridian Grimm

  • Pairings: Ranpo/Poe
  • Synopsis: When an Ability user duplicates Poe's Ability and traps Poe and Ranpo inside a book, the two detectives must solve their way through the cases together if they want to escape.
  • Comments: The shipping is somewhat background in this one, and the plot of the two detectives solving their way through a mystery anthology is fantastic- the cases and the way they're solved is very entertaining and smartly handled.

and all i loved, i loved alone by featherx

  • Recommended by: Gintama200
  • Status: Complete
  • Pairings: Ranpo/Poe
  • Synopsis: The Past, Present, and Future of one Edgar Allen Poe.
  • Comments: This is a truly heartfelt story building up to the romance between Ranpo and Poe. While Ranpo doesn't appear for a few chapters, it gives some much needed depth in Poe's life starting with discovering his ability, his relationship with his parents, his first kills, meeting Ranpo, joining the guild and, finally catching up with canon. It also delves into the mechanics of Poe's ability and how it actually works. Highly recommend it.

  • Reccommended by: Nepeta
  • Status: Complete (for now)
  • Pairings: Fukuzawa/Mori, Dazai/Chuuya, Atsushi/Akutagawa, background Poe/Ranpo
  • Synopsis: A step-by-step guide on how to be the most feared duo in Yokohama; sometimes the city’s worst rivalry; sometimes the city’s last line of defense – most of the time being dorks in love.

(Or, alternatively, a compilation of Poe and Ranpo’s theories about the astonishing survival rate of Yokohama against any threat, feat. The Port Mafia-Agency Alliance)

  • Comments: This story stands out with its unconventional format, and having true-to-canon snapshots from conversations that could have happened during the timeline. It truly shows humor and an understanding of the relationships by the author.

  • Synopsis: They made a deal. In six months, their rivalry would come to end, one way or another. But when people start disappearing in Yokohama, Atsushi and Akutagawa are forced on a stake-out mission together. Neither one of them wants to be stuck in a tiny van together for days but a job is a job.
  • Pairing: Atsushi/Akutagawa
  • Comments: An exceptionally well-written, well-characterized story of Atsushi and Akutagawa growing closer under the shadow of their upcoming duel and what the implications of that are. Slow to update, but worth the wait.

Portrait of You by izanyas

  • Reccomended by: Gintama200
  • Status: Complete (deleted work no longer on a03)
  • Crossover: My Hero Academia
  • Synopsis: Chuuya saves a little girl from her own stupidity during a trip to Musutafu. Uraraka Ochako is a gravity manipulator, a moody child, someone you can't help but let drag you along whereever she wants. She likes him and she's not. She saves him a little too.
  • Pairing: Chuuya/Dazai Pre-slash
  • Comments: An absolutely stunning and beautiful piece of work. The fusion is masterfully crafted and well written. Uraraka is a fantastic blend of being adorably cute and bratty mix of the two. Although, the pairing is Chuuya/Dazai, its more pre-slash then anything. The story focuses more on the interactions and the relationship between Chuuya and Ochako and Chuuya's reactions outside Yokohama.

  • Recommended by Gintama200
  • Status: Ongoing
  • Crossover: My Hero Academia
  • Synopsis: Dazai and Chuuya are 15 and given a mission to infiltrate U.A.
  • Comments: This a brilliant fusion of the two worlds. The writing is a little awkward at first but improves by leaps and bounds by chapter 3. Its interesting seeing how Dazai and Chuuya react to the school's environmental and their black and white morality. While the story focuses mainly on Dazai and Chuuya, other characters from Bungou Stray Dogs are slowly introduced and the platonic relationship between Chuuya and Dazai is beautiful.

  • Status: Ongoing
  • Crossover: My Hero Academia
  • Synopsis: Since the beginning of Quirks, Yokohama has announced independence from Japan and closed itself from the rest of the world. To this day and age, no one knows what lies within the city of Yokohama—or that was what the public was made to believe. In reality, Yokohama has long fallen into the control of the world's largest criminal organization known as Port Mafia. Follow Class 1-A as their principal organized a field trip to Yokohama! In their short trip there, they must change their perspectives and learn exactly what it means to be justice and what it means to be villains.

(Story takes place after season 3 of both My Hero Academia and Bungou Stray Dogs)

  • Comments: A very capturing story. The smooth crossover between the two worlds in addition to the many exciting interactions between the two sides leaves many wanting to read more as the story progresses, the cultural shock and reactions as two different perspectives collide is very entertaining, making the heroes wonder whether their definition of justice between evil and good really is the truth. Really loved the reactions from class 1a, as well as the small, but sweet soukoku moments.
