A spinoff of the Hensonverse timelines A Hippie In The House Of Mouse and When You Wish Upon A Frog. Written primarily by Denliner, Lord Yam, and Haru 89, it covers how the Gundam Franchise develops in the Hensonverse, starting with the introduction of Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam into the West through Toonami (instead of New Mobile Report Gundam Wing). At the moment it covers the Universal Century Era, but there are plans to explore the Alternate Universe spinoffs.

  • Adaptation Expansion: Gundam F91 is a full-on TV Show in this timeline instead of a movie, allowing it to be more fully developed compared to canon. Since Char is present in ZZ, his development into the megalomaniac he becomes in CCA is also more fleshed out and developed.
  • Adaptational Heroism: Zeon (yes, that Zeon) becomes an ally and friend to the Earth Federation during the events of F91 thanks to the leadership of Mineva Lao Zabi. They also assist the League Militaire during Victory against the Zanscare Empire.
  • Adaptational Nice Guy: Beltorchika is given more room to develop and grow as a person in this universe, making her somewhat more fleshed out and likable compared to her OTL counterpart.
  • Adaptational Villainy: Haman Karn is MUCH more negatively portrayed in this version of Gundam ZZ, lacking her somewhat humanizing relationship with Judau while keeping her brutal misanthropy. Iron Mask Carozzo and Zabine Chareux are also more villainous due to having more screen time. Andre Kalenga (The ITTL version of Ali Al-Saachez) also manages to be even more depraved than Ali was, butchering an entire city and engaging in mass rape, mass slavery, and cannibalism.
  • Ascended Extra: Leia Barton is still a posthumous character but she has a larger role as Trowa’s adoptive mother.
  • Child Soldier: As in OTL, Setsuna is a child soldier. The main difference is that he's from the Congo rather than the Middle East, and the man who trained him (Andre Kalenga) manages to be FAR worse than Ali Al Saachez ever was.
  • Colony Drop: An iconic part of Gundam, but in ZZ, Haman drops a colony not on Dublin, but on London, and it causes an explosion very similar to what happened to Sydney during Operation British. The results are understandably catastrophic to the Earth and everyone living on it.
  • Continuity Cameo: Mineva Lao Zabi. From her first appearance in 0079 to her pivotal roles in Zeta, ZZ, F91, and Victory Gundam, she's the most important character of the alternate Universal Century by far, having lived through decades of conflicts and political chaos.
  • Crapsack World: The Universal Century in general, but in Victory Gundam, the Earth Sphere has degraded to the point where fans (and later Bandai/Sunrise) call it the Universal Century Dark Age. Things eventually get better though.
  • Darker and Edgier: The general gist of the alternate Gundam canon. While still somewhat comedic, this version of ZZ is far closer to Zeta in tone from the very beginning. On the other hand, Victory is somewhat less dark due to Tomino not going through as serious a breakdown. In Gundam 00, Setsuna's backstory involves the Congo Wars rather than the conflicts of the Middle East, and Ali Al Saachez is replaced by Andre Kalenga, a mass murdering warlord who engages in rape, slavery and cannibalism.
  • Days of Future Past: The Late UC is full of factions that take after nations or cultures from Earth's past. Cosmo Sumeria in F91 is inspired by Mesopotamia and medieval Europe while the Zanscare Empire has many influences from the British Empire, like its OTL counterpart.
  • Death by Adaptation: The first major change compared to canon is that Kamille actually DIES in the final battle of Zeta; notably this has a major effect on the rest of the franchise (Tomino keeps Char around for ZZ partially to offset the darkness, which causes him to include Amuro and Beltorchika. This in turn makes Amuro and Beltorchika's relationship more popular, which persuades the studio to let Tomino film HIS version of Char's Counter Attack.)
  • Demoted to Extra: Lupe Cineau (and to a lesser extent, Fuala Griffon) receive far less attention in Victory Gundam, being a mook loyal to Pippinden who dies an unremarkable death at the hands of Uso Ewin.
  • Dies Differently in Adaptation: Zabine Chareux dies in F91 instead of Crossbone Gundam and is very much sane by the time Seabrook kills him. Fuala Griffon dies much earlier in Victory Gundam, having been executed for her failure to catch the League Militaire from leaving Earth.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: Crux Dogatie of the Jupiter Empire is introduced early in F91 as an ally to Iron Mask's Cosmo Sumeria (Cosmo Babylonia ITTL). His desire for revenge against the Earth Federation after the death of Carozzo Ronah becomes the major focal point in Crossbone Gundam.
  • Eviler than Thou: In this continuity, Ali Al Saachez from Gundam 00 is replaced by Andre Kalenga, a mass murdering warlord who not only engages in mass rape and enslavement but also cannibalism.
  • Earth That Was: By the Late Universal Century, the vast majority of humanity has long abandoned Earth as a result of an even more destructive environmental crisis than the original continuity. While some migrated to the space colonies, others left toward Mars, which will soon become important by the time of Omega Gundam.
  • Humans Are Psychic in the Future: While Newtypes were debated whether they are the next stage of human evolution OTL, it is directly addressed in F91 to be true, with more evolving into Newtypes as people continue to adjust living in space. By the time of Omega Gundam (ITTL Polka Gundam), every human is essentially a Newtype, while Oldtypes become an increasingly small and forgotten minority.
  • The Mentor: Shimin Ray (Amuro and Beltorchika's daughter) acts as one to Seabrook Arno. By extension, an older Seabrook Arno becomes this to Tobia Arronax.
  • Mind Rape: The Angel Halo itself. Unlike the original, it is far more insidious in this version, being able to fully control the minds of millions or even billions of people, which was the intended purpose of the weapon in the first place for Fonse Kagatie. It even became a problem for the League Militaire trying to destroy it as their mobile suits kept turning on each other until it was stopped thanks to Shakti Kareem.
  • Nostalgia Filter: Amusingly, since Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam is the first Gundam introduced to the US it means that Zeta is given a much more positive reception by American fans, whereas Wing is seen more negatively (despite arguably being better written than OTL) due to Western fans seeing it as an inferior imitation to Tomino's Universal Century timeline.
  • Related in the Adaptation: The fan theory that Uso is Char's descendant is true in this universe. In Wing, Trowa is the adopted son of Leia Barton (and therefore the adopted Grandson of Dekim Barton).
  • Spared by the Adaptation: Dorel Ronah survives the events of F91, though it pales in comparison to Victory Gundam where some of the Shrike Team, Oliver, and Odelo are spared from their OTL deaths due to Tomino's depression being less of an issue ITTL.
  • Tragic Villain: Katejina, surprisingly enough. Unlike OTL, Katejina Loos remains very much sane throughout the end of Victory Gundam, only desiring to get vengeance on Uso for Chronicle's death and going to extreme lengths to carry out that vengeance despite calls for peace from the cast. This leads her to become blind and crippled, which was Tomino's intention, albeit for very different reasons to OTL.
