Transformers: Rise of Prime
is a Transformers fanfiction by Writing Avenger 2016 detailing Optimus Prime's journey from where he went from Elite Guard washout to a Prime and thanks to a chance encounter with a powerful Cybertronian artifact, he and his crew wind up on Earth, where they go from Zeros to Heroes.
This fanfic contains the following tropes:
- Adaptational Intelligence:
- Bulkhead is more like his Prime version in terms of intellect.
- In this universe Starscream is smart enough to ingratiate himself back to Megatron as part of his plans after reviving instead of repeatedly going in guns blazing.
- Decomposite Character: In this story Black Arachnia and Elita One are two separate individuals, unlike in Animated.
- Adaptation Origin Connection: Wreck-Gar in this story came into being from what was left of Makeshift.
- Defector from Decadence: Arsenal was a Decepticon that defected before the war was over. It's eventually revealed that the trigger for it was Megatron planning on using the Allspark to brainwash all Autobots into Decepticons.
- Meaningful Rename:
- Arsenal used to be named Massacre while she was still with the Decepticons, having changed her name after defecting from them.
- Orion becomes Optimus Prime when a mortally wounded Zeta Prime passes the Matrix of Leadership onto him.
- Not Quite Dead: It was initially suggested that Black Arachnia killed Elita One, but she is later revealed to be still alive years later, yet badly wounded.
- Passing the Torch: When Zeta is fatally wounded, he passes on the Matrix of Leadership to Orion, causing the young bot to become Optimus Prime.
- Related in the Adaptation: In this universe Cliffjumper is Bumblebee's brother.
- The Smurfette Principle: Arsenal is currently the only fembot in the Autobot crew.
- Still Wearing the Old Colors: Despite having left the Decepticon cause long ago, Arsenal still has the Decepticon sigil, albeit one covered with scratches. This is eventually revealed to be because she remembered what happened to the Decepticons before they became the very thing that they were fighting against, and wanted to make a statement for it.
- Ultimate Universe: The story's setting takes inspiration from several versions of the setting, with a focus on Animated, albeit set in Chicago instead of Detroit, an expanded Decepticon roster, and with Optimus still called Orion Pax.
