The Sus SMG4 Lawsuit is an OnyxKing fanfic written by CVGW James with a hefty amount of content and characters from SMG4. The premise of the story is OnyxKing getting sued by SMG4 for using Lawyer Kong for his latest video. There's something fishy about this...

The story is set to have sixteen chapters.

You can read the story on FanFiction.Net here, or on DeviantArt here.

The Sus SMG4 Lawsuit contains examples of:

  • Apologetic Attacker: SMG1 and SMG2 show up as antagonists in Chapter 5, but SMG1 in particular is more hesitant to stop OnyxKing.
  • Adaptational Nice Guy: Oneshot Wren is more of an Anti-Villain here than the monster he was in SMG4 Movie: Western Spaghetti.
  • Adaptational Wimp: Zero, of all characters. He's defeated remarkably easier here than in the SMG4 series, where it took multiple arcs and movies to ultimately kill him.
  • And This Is for...: While fighting Zero in Chapter 11, two characters scream who/what they're fighting for.
    Melony: FOR AXOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!!!
    OnyxKing: FOR YOUTUBE AND JUSTIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICE!
  • Anti-Climax: Melony appears as an antagonist in Chapter 10, but is stopped rather easily when OnyxKing promises to include her in his videos. Keep in mind that she has the powers of a god.
  • Berserk Button: Don't call Oneshot Wren crazy, washed-up, or selfish. He'll shoot you.
  • Bowdlerize: Swagmaster's "screwed like Your Mom" line in Chapter 8 was edited into something more family-friendly.
  • But Now I Must Go: After Zero's defeat in Chapter 11, Melony parts ways with the group.
  • Call-Back:
    • Chapter 2 opens with Mario and OnyxKing remembering their fight with Zelus in "Revenge of Zelus". Makes sense, since that's where OnyxKing last saw SMG4.
    • Because "Hidden Memories" is still being worked on, the author saw fit to reference that arc as well, particularly through the appearance of Shadow Mario.
  • The Cameo: At one point in Chapter 2, the Inksona of Makerboy 10 is seen making out with Saiko Bichitaru.
  • Great Escape: Mario and Grasshopper break OnyxKing out of prison in Chapter 7.
  • Hot Pursuit: Hal Monitor chases the heroes for the entirety of Chapter 6, appropriately titled “Hal Monitor’s Road Rage Chase”.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: This exchange in Chapter 3:
Mario: Hey, Evil Glitchy Lawyer! What'cha gonna do next, you gonna take us to court?
Lawyer SMG4: Oh, Mario... Now that you mention it. You could say that someone is going to court and that someone is OnyxKing here.
    Mario: D’oh, shit!
  • Not on the List: When OnyxKing and Mario ask the courthouse's receptionist for SMG4, she says there's no one named SMG4 in their employ. It takes OnyxKing telling her that he's a YouTuber and showing her a picture of him for her to know who they're talking about.
  • Posthumous Character: Expecting to see a new character in the form of LawyerBoy20, aka Liam, said to be a friend of OnyxKing who could help them get out of the mess they're in, and is also said to not be a recolor of Mario or a model from GoldenEye (1997)? Well, too bad, because our heroes get a call that he's dead.
  • Same Character, But Different: The backstory of Oneshot Wren being a former Splatfest champion is kept, but instead of becoming a cowboy in SMG4 Movie: Western Spaghettinote , he's a bounty hunter hired by Lawyer SMG4 to stop OnyxKing. Having said that, the fight with him in Chapter 9 takes place in a desert as a nod to the aforementioned Western scenario.
  • Screwed by the Lawyers: Given the fic's slight similarities to SMG4's Lawsuit Arc, it's no surprise this trope In-Universe is the basic premise.
  • Shout-Out: When meeting Oneshot Wren, OnyxKing says "from the desert comes a stranger", which is the name of the sixth episode of The Book of Boba Fett.
  • Significant Reference Date: The phone number SMG4 dials in Chapter 9 is 508-417-2021-024. 417-2021 is the release date of "Mario Babies", the SMG4 video where Oneshot Wren debuted, and 024 is the time stamp of the video where Wren comes in. Justified, as it was Wren he was trying to call.
  • Take That!: To SuperMarioLogan. When discussing his infamous C&D from Nintendo in Chapter 4, Mario isn’t affected by it, saying Logan is overrated.
  • Villain Respect: Oneshot Wren has this to say to Mario during the fight with him in Chapter 9.
Wren: I don't have anything against you, Mario... You have my respect, and I was watching you in action on the day when Meggy emerged triumphant in the Splatfest. You have skill, that I can give you, but you're getting in the way. You of all people should know how important money is, right?
  • Virtual Soundtrack: Chapter 11 gives Zero a Villain Song as he fights the heroes, which the author titled "WITNESS"... but because this is a written fanfic and not a fan animation, if you're curious as to how it would go with the lyrics, you only have your imagination to go off of.
  • Wham Episode: Chapter 3 is where the lawsuit plot is kickstarted, with OnyxKing finding out that SMG4 is now a lawyer... and wants to sue him.
