- Adaptational Badass: Ochako Uraraka possesses an Echo Core and is able to channel vast quantities of magic with her power, making her one of the strongest individuals in the kingdom.
- Childhood Friends: Ochako, Shouto, and Katsuki were all victims of circumstance. Due to Ochako being betrothed to Shouto against her will, she was forced to attend the Royal Academy where she met Katsuki. At first she was hostile to the pair, but after everyone learned how much the others also hated the situation, three became unlikely allies.
- Chronic Hero Syndrome: Izuku, no matter how much he is hurt or how it would affect his recovery, would face off against the latest batch of Nomu that were attacking Yuuei.
- The Chosen One: Izuku. After he was given the Requiem Core, he became the only one who was capable of defeating the Blackened Core
- Forbidden Love: Prince Shouto Todoroki and Captain of the Guard Katsuki Bakugou. Their relationship is considered taboo in the kingdom of Yuuei, preventing them from expressing their true feelings for each other. In addition, Todoroki is expected to produce an heir, one capable of controlling their family's magical fire.
- Please Put Some Clothes On: Izuku spent several days wrapped in bandages wearing nothing but a linin robe, and this bothered Shouto to the point that he had the finest tailor in the land make clothes for him.
- Shadowed Face, Glowing Eyes: Izuku when he is acting as the Monster of Yuuei. His form changes to a shadowy figure wrapped in black tendrils with glowing green eyes.
- Trauma Conga Line: Izuku had to watch his father die, and then had to deal with the All Mighty Mage dying, only to inherit the power of the Requiem Core, which possessed him for the better part of a decade.
- True Love's Kiss: On the day they were supposed to be wed, Ochako cursed Shouto so that he would not be able to produce an heir except with his one true love.
