Star vs the Forces of Evil - Secrets of the Mysterious Hollow
is a Star vs. the Forces of Evil fanfic written by Negaboss2000 and takes place in an alternate version of what would have been Battle of Mewni. The story focuses on Star returning to Earth and going on a trip to London with the rest of her friends and class, but learns that there's a dark secret from her family's past which comes back haunt them.
The main story of this fanfic contains examples of:
- Always Save the Girl: Happens during chapter 2. Marco, along with the help of Kelly, Ponyhead, Jackie, Tad, Janna, and Tom, travel to Mewni during the night to rescue Star from Miss Heinous, and mostly because Marco heard that Toffee had returned. Using the van Jackie had borrowed from her sister, the gang got Star out of Mewni and back to Echo Creek.
- Flying Car: Jackie Lynn Thomas' older sister, Amy Maria Thomas, owns a 1970s periwinkle-purple van which Marco had upgraded it with the magic wand charger he had since Quest Buy.
- Long-Lost Relative: Star discovers that she has a grandfather, Arthur Reginald Butterfly, who disappeared after Star was very young.
- Not What It Looks Like: Miss Heinous says this to Queen Moon after attempting to brainwash Star and Ponyhead into perfect princesses and harm her other friends. She tries to hide what she was doing, however Jackie rats out what she, Gemini, Rasticore and Baby were doing to her friends.
- Sentient Vehicle: Jackie’s van, the Neon Pegasus, ends up becoming this after crash landing in London. It chucked out its driver and passengers, along with their own luggage before driving off on its own. It's unknown, however, what caused the van to become sentient.
- Shut Up, Hannibal!: Spoken by King River towards Baby after she attempted to call him out for smashing Miss Heinous’ brainwashing machine with his club. He even cuts her off by swinging his club at Baby and calls her a pest.
